When I went back to the store to discuss the pricing of their service I spoke to the owner. I was told, "that's the way it is....the outside firms have to make money....they charge $95 just to ring your doorbell."
I know repair places charge a service charge, if they come to your house without knowing what the problem is. But, in this case, the repair was known and the part was ordered. The cost was extraordinary. I was not told in advance of any service charge and was given no estimate or indication that the price would be high.
The gasket repair was not done correctly and now requires me to schedule another service visit to make it right. I received NO satisfaction from the owner. I was offered no rebate, no cost reduction, not even a store credit to use at a future date, and not even the semblance of an apology, which would have been excellent customer service. And this is for a good customer who has purchased, not one, not two, but SIX appliances from this organization over 10 years..
They are very pleasant when you want to buy high end appliances, but come in for another issue or with a problem and they don't even know your name. Like others who have written here, they are off my list for any future purchase or any type of service.
Steer clear of this store. There are better organizations with quality customer service and better attitude, as well as lower prices.
I ran a normal wash cycle and all seemed OK. The next normal cycle the problem was back!! I can easily pump out the water with a manual pump cycle (press and hold the clear button). Checked all the hoses, etc. All looks fine. Based on some DIY forums, I decided to use my plunger to push water through the sink drain. Problem is almost 100% gone. I wonder if I needed a new pump or all that was needed was to clear the sink drain?
$285 lesson learned. The woman who answers the service phone is very nice and does a good job. Not pleased with the quality of the problem diagnosis. I will not use them in the future.
As to the delivery, we paid extra for installation of the appliances. We were not happy with the way the delivery people left - they pointed to the books and told us and quot;The books are there.and quot; There was no explanation of how the things work. Not only that, but the stove wasn't left at the correct height or leveled. My husband did it quickly enough but after paying extra for installation I don't think my husband should have broken out in a sweat or possibly injure himself finishing the install.
