I wouldn't recommend it, but if you do hire WEC, make sure to get the quote in writing! They gave me a quote of $4200 to rebuild the upper part of my deck and expand it out another 5 feet. Steve said he didn't think the foundation structure of the deck needed replacing, but if it did then the cost would be more. Fair enough, no problem. I gave him a deposit of $2500 on June 28th. WEC started the work on July 5th, and finished up on the 10th. Steve Wren called me in the evening of the 10th and told me the price ended up being $5300, a 25% increase over what he originally quoted, even though there hadn't been any extra materials or work involved. I asked what the extra cost was for and he told me the railing and 2 extra guys to work on it. How was it that the railing and labor were not included in the original quote? If he didn't include them that's his fault, not mine. I hired him based on his original quote. Did he just see an easy mark and decide to scam an extra $1100 from me? I know what I believe, but you can decide for yourself. (And $1100 is not peanuts for me. It took me years to save enough to pay for this without borrowing, and because of the extra cost I ended up borrowing anyway). To top it all off, the work was substandard. The railing corners don't match up, and the bottom step is way too high off the ground, which they "fixed" by using MY OWN landscaping bricks to prop it up. I had used WEC before for some small jobs around the house, so I thought I could trust them. I had planned to use them for many more projects I need done, but that will not be happening now. Don't trust anyone, and get the quote in writing no matter who you're dealing with. I definitely won't be using WEC again.

Steve Wren called immediately and followed up quickly to get in and fix our light switch insanely quickly. Turned out he'd done work on the house nearly 20 years ago and double checked everything was still good. All and all very happy.
