MAZELIS LANDSCAPE CONTRACTING

The sod was not installed correctly.  The sod should have been "nailed down" on the parts of the property that were on a incline.  When the gardener tried to cut the lawn the sod came up.  I then hired Mazelis to cut the lawn thinking he would take more care.  I was wrong.  His men also pulled up the sod.  I month later I saw maggots coming out from under the lawn and crossing my driveway.  Mr. Mazelis never came to look even after I sent a picture to his office. Mr. Mazelis was slow to follow up on any of my complains.  --I am very disappointed because Mr. Mazelis is a nice man.  I hired his company because they do the gardening work for the Village I live in.  I guess I was wrong.  I will be hiring a new gardener this spring.--

OK until fall cleanup. My contract stated "approx." $350 for fall cleanup. Although I expressed my discomfort with that term on a contract; the owner himself, Steve Mazelis assured me that it would vary "maybe another $50-$75, no more." When my monthly bill came sometime end of Oct/beginning Nov, $200 was included for leaf clean up. I paid it figuring it was a partial payment of the fall cleanup price. His crew came again and performed another cleanup WELL BEFORE the leaves had dropped because of the late season. I then got a bill for over $700!! I requested Mr. Mazelis come to my home to discuss everything, and he did. He stated that "the job was bigger than he thought", although he himself gave me the original estimate after evaluating my property. I agreed to pay an additional $100 over the original est. of $350, adding to that $200. I was charged $650 for a incomplete fall cleanup. He also charged me $150 over est. for a gravel path he put in. Beware of his unethical low-balling!

MAZELIS DID A FINE JOB OF CLEANING UP AND MOWING MY LAWN ONCE A WEEK. MY YARD LOOKS FANTASTIC. THE STAFF WAS PROFESSIONAL AND RESPONDED QUICKLY TO MY CALLS.

THEY REALLY TAKE CARE OF MY YARD. SINCE THEY STARTED I CAN REALLY SEE THE DIFFERENCE. THEY ARE ALWAYS HERE WHEN THEY ARE SCHEDULED TO ARRIVE. THEY CLEAN UP THE CLIPPINGS AND TRIM THE BUSHES REALLY WELL.
