The setting is beautiful - - only 1 mile off Western Ave, but you are in a beautiful country setting, including lots of lawn, and a pond with a small bridge. My dog gets anxious before appointments so it would be a great place to take her for a walk to relax her prior to the appt.
The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming! They took a photo of my dog when we arrived for her records. I arrived for my appt and was processed quickly and shown to an exam room. This is the 1st vet appt ever that I did not wait !!
Dr. Lexi was fantastic! She shook my hand and then got down on the floor and introduced herself to my dog for 10 minutes. She was soooo patient with the long list of questions I had about my dog and also about a puppy I was getting in a week. Dr. Lexi called me with the test results the next week and again answered my many questions and explained the test results in detail. I felt so good after the talking to her, knowing that my dog was getting great care.
What was even more amazing is that my previous vet wanted to do $300 in repeat blood tests! The blood test at The Animal Hospital was $66 and it provided all the necessary information for her condition.
Bottom line evaluation compared to previous vet:
* Received appt in time frame I requested
* No waiting for appt once I arrived
* Staff much friendlier
* Dr. Lexi was amazing
* Prices significantly better
* Relaxing country location, yet convenient to home location
I am so happy that I found The Animal Hospital on Angie's List -- I will be a life long customer. My only regret is that I did not find them sooner!

I recently moved and had to leave behind the vet practice that I originally took my dog to, which we both loved. I had tried a new vet the last couple of months for his annual checkup and shots, but found them to be unfriendly and all business. They clearly were about quantity of patients and not quality of care. Since my pup is only 18 months old and still thinks the vet is fun, I want a Vet who goes above the standard exam. Someone who will take the extra step to talk to, pet and give a treat to my dog when they are done. It's important to me he leave on a happy note, thinking the Vet is a good human, and not someone evil who pokes and prods him and walks away. Dr Melinda did that and more. She not only did she give him a thorough exam, (including clipping his nails) explaining every step, what she was and wasn't looking for, but when she was done, she and the vet tech got down on the floor with Whiskey, played with him, pet him and gave him treats. By the time we left he had completely forgotten the unpleasantness of the exam. While this practice may be a little more pricey than others, I feel they definitely go above and beyond the care that other vets do, and I highly recommend them.
I should also mention that the grounds this practice is situated on is A+. Set well off the road, in a country setting. They have manicured lawns, pastures, and a duck pond. When you go, I recommend you give yourself extra time to take your dog for a walk before his exam to relax him. It truly is a beautiful, peaceful place.

When my cat continued to go into heat after being spayed by Doctor Becker, he refused to believe me saying, after all,
“It is a simple operation, and everything is right there.” He instead treated her for a number of other ailments he said would produce similar behavior, which was ineffective, expensive, and produced further problems from which she never recovered.
After a year of his obstinacy, he finally agreed to look again, and he reported that he had left some ovarian tissue behind.
He told me he was almost was going to charge me. I should have sued for malpractice after what he put her through.
It was disturbing that he botched the operation in the first place,
as well as refused to listen to me when I told him she was going into heat.
When I asked repeatedly for her records to be sent to her new veterinarian, he never complied.
By the way, I found it interesting that I saw his sister in my current vet’s office…

We have taken our pets to the Animal Hospital for routine examinations and tests, as well as for crisis situations. The staff is always friendly and professional. The diagnosis made for crisis situaitons are supported by test results ordered by the staff. I have full confidence that the staff is able to treat my two dogs and cats. I will continue to take my pets to the Animal Hospital for their medical needs.

So wonderful!!!!!!! Dr. Melinda was very attentive and promised that she would solve the problem (instead of covering it up as the other vets had done). Dr. Melinda performed a full annual exam and looked at things that none of the other vets I had seen had. There was absolutely no rush and Dr. Melinda made sure that I understood everyhting that she said and encouraged me and gave me time to ask questions. We are continuing to isolate the problem (though we know it's food related) and are figuring out the best course of action as we go. Dr. Melinda has followed up with my puppy's progress and continues to monitor him to make sure that he is a healthy puppy! The Animal Hospital has by far surpassed the three other vets in the area that I have seen. The staff is approachable and friendly and I'm pretty sure that I'll never go to another vet in the area! The animal Hospital is amazing!

I'd give it an A for every quality you brought up, we have dealt with them a long time.

Dr. Lexi Becker performed an exam on a cat I was fostering which could have serious health problems. She diagnosed the cat with a viral infection and provided SubQ fluids and a vitamin B injection. Dr. Lexi has always been compassionate and caring with my cats - whether it be a well-visit or to put a pet down. She and her staff are courteous and sensitive to the animals and their owners' needs. The Animal Hospital has called on weekends to check on my cats to see how they are doing. Dr. Lexi has even emailed and called me personally during off times. I highly recommend the Animal Hospital, Dr. Lexi, her colleagues, and staff to keep your pets healthy and well!

It is very hard to get an appointment with this veterinarian because they are so good. They are very busy but they always have time for my pet. They never over charge and I feel the price is just right.

We like the fact that we get between a 5 and 10 percent discount when we bring in all three of our cats. These people are very professional and always courteous to us.
