Uggggh!!! Be Careful! My roof leaked after Walsh Home Improvements replaced my entire roof for $18,000!!!!!!!! I called Jim Walsh and he came back with his sub contractor. to replace a few tiles but my roof continued to LEAK. Leaked badly every time it rained!! I had to hire a new roofing company who then stripped off the new tiles and BINGO Jim Walsh had left all the corroded 50 year old lumber on my roof. Yes folks he charged me for new lumber but actually left all the old blackened lumber. I have pictures of the decrepit lumber to prove it!!! I had to pay $10,000 to redo the part of the roof that was leaking. Jim Walsh said these exact words: “Mistakes happen”. But he never offered me a penny!!! He admitted that the job was foul and walked away!!!! So...moral of this nightmare: 1. DO NOT use a roofer who sub contracts and then disappears while the work is being done. 2. DO NOT use a roofer who refuses to itemize all material and labor separately. 3. DO NOT use a roofer who does not guarantee his work. DO NOT use Walsh Home Improvement. I trusted Jim Walsh because he was my neighbor and I wanted to give him business. Where is his conscience? if anyone wants to see the pictures of the disgraceful lumber Walsh left on my house. I will be happy to show you. This work was done in 2015 and after 2 years of leaking I had to find $10,000 to redo the roof in 2017. The reason I never reported earlier is simply that I am too nice. But it is not fair to consumers. Honesty is fair.

Job went flawlessly. I chose Walsh Home Improvements after researching reviews on Angie's List and other sites. Jim Walsh, the owner, came and measured the door and left us with a ProVia catalog from which to chose. Jim was patient as we tortured him by asking for prices for a few designs! On the day of installation, everything went well and the door looks great. ProVia doors are the best you can get and, yes, the job could have been done for a lower cost but I am very happy with the quality of door and the professionalism of its installation.

I initially called the company for an estimate on upgrading our bathroom and reglazing the tub. A designer came to our apartment to measure and evaluate the job and got back to us within 2 days with a reasonable estimate. We decided to just reglaze the tub at this time and the job was scheduled within the week. Outcome was great and the tub looks like new. Actually, better than new!

They're very good, we really like him. He's great, he hasn't done anything significant to our house, but we're going to ask hi to look at our gutters and replace our front door. He's a terrific guy, he's very personable, he takes a lot of pride in his business it seems. He's very punctual, and a real pleasure to work with. He didn't come in and act like he was the expert and we were the idiots, he explained things to us, he really had good bedside manner which you don't see in local contractors.

It was a significant job and they did a very good job. They were supervised by an engineer that insures the quality of their work.

Jim Walsh, the owner of Walsh Home Improvements, came to our home to size up the work and provide an estimate. He was punctual, polite, and measured the door opening very carefully. He showed us the Andersen catalog and suggested energy-efficient glass options, he then described the various hardware and finish options. There was no sales pressure placed on us at all, just the way my wife and I like to do business. Jim sent us an estimate the next day via email and it was very well presented. His estimate was neatly provided in Adobe PDF format and contained detailed information about the work to be performed. Jim's price was not the lowest of the bids we received, but his attention to detail impressed us and we gave him an OK to proceed with the work. Jim communicated with us very well throughout the entire process via email and telephone calls. The door arrived in Jim's shop about 3-4 weeks later and Jim accommodated our request to push the work out another 3 weeks due to cabinetry work going on inside the house (we really appreciated his flexibility). On the day of installation the door arrived exactly at the time Jim specified. The 2-man crew, lead by Donny, showed up a short while after the door arrived and started work (the process was well orchestrated). The crew was very professional and cordial. We were a bit concerned about the installation because the entire door opening is surrounded by ceramic tile and did not want any to get cracked or damaged. The crew was very careful with removal of the wood trim and the old door, and they did an excellent job with the installation (no tiles damaged!). The installation took a little more than a half day to complete. The new door glides effortlessly and the caulking was performed neatly and with great care. It was a very hot day when the door was installed and Jim made a visit during the installation to bring some cold drinks to the crew, I can see that he cares about his workers. The crew left the area spotless when they finished. I would use Walsh Home Improvements again for future projects.

I was able to reach Jim Walsh immediately. He was very accommodating in order to schedule time for an estimate, since I needed to be there during my lunch hour. He was very thorough when taking measurements for the estimate and he took time to answer all of my questions, never rushing me. Before sending the estimate to me, he called to offer different options for the windows and doors and then stopped by again to confirm measurements. Once the door and windows were delivered, he called to arrange installation within the following week. He had originally thought that the install would take one day, but called me near the end of the day to explain that the masonry around the windows had crumbled more than anticipated and the repaired masonry would need to cure overnight, before he could paint. The crew arrived promptly to finish the job on the following day.
At all times, I felt that Jim was very fair and very helpful. His crew was prompt, also very helpful, and cleaned up the work site better than it looked before they arrived!
We have now been through one hurricane and multiple heavy rain storms with the new basement windows and door. There have been no leaks and our basement is drier and warmer than before.

Jim was extermely professional and very responsive. He was on for our initial appointment and provided an estimate quickly. He was very knowledgeable and had good recommendations for product. His team was the same during installation. They came in and completed the job sooner than expected. I am definitely using Walsh Home Improvements for additional services!

I purchased the doors from them and the installation. They were perfectly nice but incompetent service.
Response from WALSH HOME IMPROVEMENTS, LLC

"It is impossible to install this type of door system backwards. I never received a complaint of a phone call from this client regarding his claim. Don't know why he would post a report 3 years after the work was completed and paid for."

Owner is very professional and responsive. Installation was a breeze. The installers completed the whole job in 2 days; very neat and clean installation. Only issue was that one window arrived cracked from the manufacturer and a couple of other options were wrong from the manufacturer (white instead of nickel locks and a window without a requested lift). Jim was very responsive and had the issues fixed.

I called and left a message. They called back asking for more details, and then promised to call back later with more information, but never did. If they don't want the job, they could at least say so.
Response from WALSH HOME IMPROVEMENTS, LLC

"IF THE POTENTIAL CLIENT DID ACTUALLY CALL MY OFFICE, WHICH I DO NOT RECALL HE EVER DID, HE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN ME, JIM WALSH, ON THE PHONE AND I WOULD HAVE SPOKEN TO HIM ABOUT HIS WINDOW REPLACEMENT RIGHT THEN. THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO NEED TO GET ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND CALL HIM BACK. HE MUST HAVE MY COMPANY CONFUSED WITH ANOTHER. I WELCOME FOR HIM TO CALL ME TO DISCUSS HIS NEEDS."

Overall the job went very well. Initially we were very unsure as to what kind of a window treatment we wanted to do. Jim Walsh was very patient and was very willing to provide additional information and quotes when we changed our minds as to the design of the windows. Jim was prompt, responsive and honest about all aspects of the job. As indicated in the contract, the windows were ready to be installed exactly five weeks after the order had been placed. Jim's crew of four arrived on time and were very diligent and careful workers. Initially there were a few problems in trying to remove the old aluminum casement windows but that was quickly resolved. Also, there was as discrepancy between how the windows were being trimmed inside and out. A call to Jim quickly resolved the matter as he put the most experience man in charge of finishing the windows interior. While Jim was very careful about measuring the windows, one window arrive about a half inch too wide for the space. Some clever carpentry by the crew made the necessary room for the window to fit like a glove. Special thanks to Carlos Bibar for his masterful carpentry and metal work skills and for doing such a great job overall. Some very minor issues: Several metal collars that fit around the lock lever on the interior were missing from the fixture packs and are on order. Also, the crew forgot to remove the little half inch reinforcement blocks with little red tabs that ship with the windows to secure that they don't move in shipment. The crew was very considerate, well-mannered and did clean up thoroughly.

The installers were very neat and did excellent work, both to ensure the fit was good in all of the openings, as well as to clean up after themselves. They were prompt, courteous and considerate. Communicated with sales person by email, and got prompt replies. The order was delivered on time as promised.

The service person was very nice to me. He did show up on time and did a great job. There is no draft on the window pane that he replaced and the screens look nice as well. Once I called them and got a quote, they were able to do the work two days later.

In one word, OUTSTANDING! The company sent two separate two-man crews, one that specialized in the door and the other for the window. We were surprised how little time it took, which was due to their experience and efficient operation. Also, they were meticulous in cleaning-up and removing all remnants of their work. We are planning to replace all of the remaining windows in our home and will certain use Walsh again, as well as recommend the company to our friends and relatives.

I have had much work done in the past by a loyal "handyman". When he retired, I was very disappointed at work done by others. Even though I had paid in full, Walsh Screen and Windows, Inc. sent someone back to take care of a minor problem that existed.
