Great combination of competence, honesty and fair pricing.
We brought an old 1991 Mercedes 300TE that had some gas tank repair work done elsewhere that resulted in black exhaust smoke spewing from the tail pipe and poor performance including frequent stuttering and stalling.
Mickey's thoroughly diagnosed the issue - for free - this included several hours taking apart components to determine the root cause of the issue.
The staff presented a repair estimate with a range of repair cost with a low and high number with the high estimated stemming from the possibility of more substantial repairs needed once the work commenced.
The team was very clear about progress they were making on the car and gave us an opportunity to determine what work we wanted to perform (i.e., critical work that needed to get done versus less critical work that did not require immediate attention).
We approved the high dollar amount. They ended up draining/cleaning the fuel tank and adding fresh fuel and replacing 3 severely clogged fuel injectors.
The car runs like a top again with performance exceeding expectations and the exhaust issue fully resolved.
For further piece of mind these guys also warrant their work and reminded us of that after we had paid - it is nice to have this insurance. Finally, the repair cost came in way below the top end estimate.
It is so hard to find such high quality mechanics that are highly skilled, great in managing customer interaction and fairly priced.
We would use again - we have already scheduled some regular maintenance work for our 2001 Lexus LX470
Mickey and his crew were punctual, professional, quick and turned a headache-inducing day into a calming one. I've found a wonderful new mechanic and I will use them again and again. Can't thank them enough.
Although the xenon headlight bulb was expensive (about $132 ) the mechanic had the bulb out in 5 minutes. This bulb had to be ordered so I had to wait.
I would estimate replacement time for bulb also 5 min, or ten minutes tops.at most.Rear license plate bulbs in stock minimal cost; I would say they took 5 min or less to replace.Total labor time was therefore 20 minutes. Not told or given labor estimate prior to work starting.
However I was charged $72.36 in labor or about 45 minutes, as their labor charge is about $94-$95 per hour. They also added a "shop fee" of $19 and change which i was told was for "rags and other Things, everyone gets charged this"
So including the tax, my total came to a whopping $250 to replace the headlight bulb and the 2tiny license plate bulbs.
I did price the Xenon bulb with Nissan later and the bulb price was correct, but that is not my complaint.I feel the labor charge of more than 1/2 hr (or about $47 ) was excessive..so therefore the labor charge of $72 was excessive and the shop fee of just over$19 was ridiculous. So in terms of labor and shop charges I felt overcharged by at least $45 plus the tax on that, which would put the overcharge total near $48 regardless of the price of the headlight and license plate bulbs.
I Do not recommend this shop and would never use again.Probably cheaper to get this done at a Nissan dealer. Also this auto repair shop seemed to have no owner or senior person of resposibility on site.
"Great to hear that all is working well. Thanks for your response!"
"Thanks member. We'll make sure that car is safe for all to drive."
