Lifetime Roofing and Chimneys

When he was on our roof, he cemented a few places around the floo were the concrete had fallen out over the years.  When he came down he gave us a price of $624.60.  We asked to speak with his boss, but the employee stated that he was the boss and there was no one else to talk to.  We later found out that was not entirely true, that he had a partner we could have spoken with.  We told them that price was far too expensive and that the stated price was a rip-off, but refused to leave until we gave him a check, so we did.  We called the company as soon as he left and found the owner to speak with, Jennifer, and explained what happened, and she agreed that we were ripped off and encouraged us to stop the check, which fortunately we were able to do.

After that we called a few other chimney places and they quoted $200 to $300 for the same work.

The inspection did not appear to be thorough and he only inspected from the floo looking up and did nothing with the chimney cap.  He spent about hour inspecting and re-cementing the pieces in and the charge he quoted us was outrageous.

I am ready and willing to pay a reasonable price, but no an exorbitant price.
