Very Satisfied.  Arrived on time - called before arriving.  I had removed the top layer of the wallpaper initially, therefore, they only had to remove the backing of paper.  However, it had been done many years ago with wallpaper paste, which made it difficult to remove.  but they never stopped trying, and did not leave until it was finished (without a break)  I don't remember their names, but one was Pierre (both very helpful with tips on what to do and recommended a primer for the wall after job was completed. The other gentleman spackled areas of wall where needed which I don't think he had to do.  They also left remaining supplies in case I needed - which I  thought was very nice.
My only recommendation would be the use of a powerful steamer which I have heard  other contractors use instead of the little scrapper, and wallpaper removal liquid.   l believe would have made it easier to removed especially when paste has been used instead of the prepasted wall paper.
Otherwise, I was very satisfied, and would recommend.

Adler Painting and Paper did an outstanding job hanging the wallpaper, and they were prompt, courteous and professional. I will definitely use them again.

Adler Painting was my fifth and final quote. I went with them because the price was lower than others (partly because they did not skim coat which I did not realize was different from just preparing the walls.) and Ron lives in my neighborhood. I thought the price for replacing the molding was a bit high. But they came on time, were pleasant and trust worthy, and did a great job. No complications, no complaints. I particularly appreciated how they put everything back the way they found it and cleaned up.

Walter from Adler Painting was punctual, thorough, skilled, and clean.  He removed our wallpaper, sanded and patched the surface, and applied two beautifully even and clean coats of paint.  We are very happy with the process and the result.
Our entire experience with Adler Painting was pleasant and professional, from Pierre's initial estimate to watching them prepare the work area with drop cloths and tape.  Despite some trouble getting the work done on our originally scheduled date, Ron Adler worked with us to reschedule and provide low-VOC paint in our exact color as specified.
We are definitely considering them for future jobs.

Great job - came as requested and was about to install when noticed imperfection in a roll and suggested I exchange.
Came back to finish the job - works very quickly and does an excellent job.

Adler Painting was recommended to me by a high-end Manhattan contractor, who is a friend of mine. In his words: ?not the most expensive and not the least expensive, but for sure the best?. He was right!!!

The overall experience was very satisfying to say the least. Mr. Adler showed on time to estimation appointment, was very courteous and came up with helpful suggestions. His quote seemed fair (considering the quality of work, it was actually much more than fair). His team always showed up on time and kept the apartment clean throughout the process.  The end results; very impressive.

I will recommend Mr. Adler to anyone who is looking for higher than the ordinary quality painting.

We contacted a few contractors for a popcorn texture removal project.  Adler was very responsive and his cost very competitive. This is our first project in New York city and didn't quite understand all the building insurance requirements but Adler answered all our questions patiently and was very professional.  Because we had a tight schedule for all the work, Adler worked with us to accommodate our needs.  His workers arrived in a timely and finished earlier than scheduled.  They did an excellent job in preparing the worksite , protecting the existing structure and cleanup and debris removal at project completion.  They also patched some holes for us at no additional cost.
I would highly recommend Adler Painitng and would use them again in the future should the need arise.

Work was completed in exactly the amount of time allocated 4 hours.  The team did an excellent job with minimal damage to the underlying plasterboard.  Cleaned up all the all the old wallpaper scraps and took them away in their garbage bags.  Overall I am completely satisfied customer.

Came to clean up wallpapered walls, which needed to be skim-coated instead.  With the go-ahead, he did a great job.
Had to get supplies and sought the best price (e.g., did not use the over-priced hardware store on the corner, but went a few extra blocks on foot to get a much fairer price for me.
Clean, capable, cleaned up after the work.  A great job.

His team did an excellent job. We had compressed timelines to meet, but his team were able to meet those timelines and complete it to our satisfaction.  In fact, we under ordered sufficient wallpaper for one hallway, they were able to come back a week later (with no additional charge) to complete the job.
Would recommend Ron and his team!

They were great. It was the first time I had used them. Pierre came and he was wonderful. He inspected everything to make sure it was perfect. They cleaned up after themselves. They were very nice and everything was excellent.

Bought a special package on Angie's List for 8 hours of wallpaper removal and wall prep.   Estimate for actual papering and/or painting was rather high, so I decided to go with just the package purchased.  Workman was polite, quiet, efficient and did a terrific job.  He left the room spotless, which was very much appreciated.  All in all, a good experience.

He was pretty good.  His price was very good for the work involved.  The prices that I got from other painters were 50% more or double.  The work quality was good; I wouldn’t say it was museum quality, but it was good.  He was scrupulously honest.  His superintendent was excellent.  The paint quality was not that great, but the overall experience was great.  If I weren’t looking for museum quality of work, I would use them again.

They did come when they said they were going to and they did return my phone calls.  After they removed the wallpaper (which, understandably, is a messy job), there were little bits of leftover paper on the walls and floor.  They did not remove the adhesive from the walls, just the paper.  I had a painter come to give an estimate on painting the walls where the wallpaper had been taken down and he mentioned to me that they did not remove the adhesive from the walls, just the paper.  They sent 2 guys for the work, but he didn't do much work and disappeared after he helped move some furniture away from the walls.  I would never use these people again or recommend them to anyone.

"For one day Big Deal contract, our company removed grasscloth paper from a large living room, dining area, and hallway. We were pleased with the result. There was no additional time to further prepare the walls. Needless to say, we were surprised to read the customer's report. We contacted the customer and discussed the report. The customer hired us for an additional day, and paid in full. She promised to revise her Angie's List comments. We're disappointed that it hasn't happened."

While I was pleased with the work, and the value, I was not so impressed with the arrangement of the appointment.  I spoke with the owner with whom I set up a time for a couple of weeks hence. During that period, one of employees of the company called me on two different occasions once to set up an appointment (which I already had) and the second time to confirm an appointment for a day and time other than had been agreed to.  I finally called the owner back and he said he would take care of it.

When the day arrived, the workers were about an hour and a half late, although they did call at some point to let me know they were on their way.

Once here they were extremely professional and industrious.  I had not expected they would do such extensive plastering once the wall paper off, but they worked the full four hours and did a terrific job. Given the time factor, the plaster was still wet and I obvioiusly did not expect them to leave it perfectly ready for painting.

I would certainly hire them again for wallpaper removal, even if it was not a 'special'

I purchased the $199 "big deal" via Angie's list, and I characterize the experience under the classic warning "If the price seems too good to be true, it is indeed too good to be true".  Here are the key points of my experience:

-they are based in Manhattan, and apparently do not know Brooklyn well.  I had left a message that I wanted the work performed at my mother-in-law's home, and provided the address.  They showed up at my house instead (late). I then had to provide them directions via cellphone to my mother-in-law's house.  They were supposed to start at 10.00, but after all this confusion they showed up at 12.00

-the advertisement for this special deal promises 8 man-hours of work, but they were done by 2.30 PM or so (5 man-hours) and the work was not as promised. Specifically, there was still some glue residue on the walls AND they did not sand or spackle at all.

-For $199, I can't complain too much.  Although the work was not done as advertised, it was "fair", given the price.  I would not say that I got a "deal".

-I would not recommend this deal if you are outside Manhattan.  I think part of the reason there work was rushed was that they had to commute from and back to Manhattan for a $199 job.

I needed 20 year-old wallpaper removed from one large room, 15 x 20 ... a horrible job for a novice and one that would take days for a DIYer to do before wall prep could even be started.  Adler's man, Hugo, came on time (early), never took a break that we could see, ensured that all the surrounding areas, especially our hardwood floors were protected, removed, cleaned and spackled the walls in the alloted time.  Nothing was left undone or under-done.  We could begin painting immediately.  Mr Adler kept in constant touch with us and followed up immediately after Hugo left.  Excellent service and a tremendous value.
