My only recommendation would be the use of a powerful steamer which I have heard other contractors use instead of the little scrapper, and wallpaper removal liquid. l believe would have made it easier to removed especially when paste has been used instead of the prepasted wall paper.
Otherwise, I was very satisfied, and would recommend.
Our entire experience with Adler Painting was pleasant and professional, from Pierre's initial estimate to watching them prepare the work area with drop cloths and tape. Despite some trouble getting the work done on our originally scheduled date, Ron Adler worked with us to reschedule and provide low-VOC paint in our exact color as specified.
We are definitely considering them for future jobs.
Came back to finish the job - works very quickly and does an excellent job.
Adler Painting was recommended to me by a high-end Manhattan contractor, who is a friend of mine. In his words: ?not the most expensive and not the least expensive, but for sure the best?. He was right!!!
The overall experience was very satisfying to say the least. Mr. Adler showed on time to estimation appointment, was very courteous and came up with helpful suggestions. His quote seemed fair (considering the quality of work, it was actually much more than fair). His team always showed up on time and kept the apartment clean throughout the process. The end results; very impressive.
I will recommend Mr. Adler to anyone who is looking for higher than the ordinary quality painting.
I would highly recommend Adler Painitng and would use them again in the future should the need arise.
Had to get supplies and sought the best price (e.g., did not use the over-priced hardware store on the corner, but went a few extra blocks on foot to get a much fairer price for me.
Clean, capable, cleaned up after the work. A great job.
Would recommend Ron and his team!
"For one day Big Deal contract, our company removed grasscloth paper from a large living room, dining area, and hallway. We were pleased with the result. There was no additional time to further prepare the walls. Needless to say, we were surprised to read the customer's report. We contacted the customer and discussed the report. The customer hired us for an additional day, and paid in full. She promised to revise her Angie's List comments. We're disappointed that it hasn't happened."
When the day arrived, the workers were about an hour and a half late, although they did call at some point to let me know they were on their way.
Once here they were extremely professional and industrious. I had not expected they would do such extensive plastering once the wall paper off, but they worked the full four hours and did a terrific job. Given the time factor, the plaster was still wet and I obvioiusly did not expect them to leave it perfectly ready for painting.
I would certainly hire them again for wallpaper removal, even if it was not a 'special'
-they are based in Manhattan, and apparently do not know Brooklyn well. I had left a message that I wanted the work performed at my mother-in-law's home, and provided the address. They showed up at my house instead (late). I then had to provide them directions via cellphone to my mother-in-law's house. They were supposed to start at 10.00, but after all this confusion they showed up at 12.00
-the advertisement for this special deal promises 8 man-hours of work, but they were done by 2.30 PM or so (5 man-hours) and the work was not as promised. Specifically, there was still some glue residue on the walls AND they did not sand or spackle at all.
-For $199, I can't complain too much. Although the work was not done as advertised, it was "fair", given the price. I would not say that I got a "deal".
-I would not recommend this deal if you are outside Manhattan. I think part of the reason there work was rushed was that they had to commute from and back to Manhattan for a $199 job.
"We removed wallpaper from the kitchen (which included a seating area), the master bathroom, and a toilet area in the basement."
