Deck and Porch Service
Failed to complete work and took full payment. Was verbally abusive when asked to complete the job. It has been a few years since my experience, and I'm not sure Hampton Deck and Dave Salerno are in business anymore.

Hampton Deck is not a company you want to do business with.
The work began in late April and was supposed to be finished by Memorial Day, it never was. The owner, David Salerno, did not return most calls and when I could contact him he constantly made excuses (the weather, his general contractor quit, he leveraged his business and was out of money). Finally he just disappeared leaving me unable to use my back yard the entire summer. I had to hire a reputable contractor to finish the job at additional expense.
In addition to walking away from a job in process the owner does not know how to manage a business as evidenced by his admission of running out of money and frankly stealing mine. I received a lien on my property from the lumber yard despite my paying Hampton Deck for the lumber. Finally, he did admit wrongdoing and agreed to pay me back some of the money owed - of course the check bounced.

David from Hampton Deck, provided an amazing Design for the reconstruction of our 30 year-old Pool Deck
for our home in Southampton.The project completed in half the time proposed, and ON BUDGET!!
Hampton Deck gave us new ideas and suggested materials for a cleaner, more up-to date look for our backyard.
Everyone who comes to the house loves what was done! We are so happy with the outcome, we have invited
David to create a design for the terraces on our Manhattan home.

Buyer beware.
The initial design and contract phases were very professional and cordial. Once the project was underway, progress stopped. No one showed up for weeks at a time. A small crew of 2 people would work one day and then dissapear another few weeks. After 3 months, the contractor told me he ran out of money, lost his insurance and then abandoned my project in a complete state of disarray.
Floorboards were not attached, railings never installed, columns never installed, trim never installed, thin untempered glass rail panels substituted for thick tempered glass, house paint job never done.
David Salerno, the owner, took the majority of the total contract payment, barely answered his phone, sent hostile emails, used every excuse imaginable but the truth, promised to get back to work and never showed up again. I still can't believe how many lies and broken promises I was told. Very dissapointing experience.

It was night mare trying to get them to finish the deck. They were not responsive. When they did finish it was not up to the standard. I would not recommend them to anyone.
