Steve and Steven renovated both bathrooms in my house- they were neat, on time and performed with EXCELLENT craftsmanship- I would call them again for any home renovation

Steve and Steve came on time, cleaned up area each night, and completed job when promised. Waited 3-4 weeks for cabinet to be made, but we were made aware of the timeline. My husband and I would recommend this company for any reconstruction job in the home.

Simply put, SHD Construction did an outstanding job making improvements and repairs to my home. I found Steve and Steve (father/son duo) via Angie’s list and was skeptical of all the great reviews. I found them to be extremely friendly, honest, trustworthy and most important, their workmanship was of a very high caliber. My design skills are lacking and they were both able to help me along the way with great design related suggestions. Additionally, they always left the house very clean. A summary of the work performed was as follows: 1. Complete gut and renovation of master bathroom - This included new lights, installation of exhaust fan, buildout of a separate bath, custom glass shower and radiant heat throughout. All of the electrical, plumbing and tile work was completely remodeled and redone to perfection. 2. Replacement of Trim and Stucco in front of home - My home is an older home and after the full demolition of the master bathroom, we noticed that the exterior wall (front of home) was completely rotted out due to a leak in exterior trim molding that was covered in aluminum. As a result, SHD was able to completely replace the trim in the front of the house and replace the rotted wood. This was a large surface area that needed replacement. SHD was able to complete the job from start to finish including stucco and painting. No more leak! 3. Complete gut and renovation of 2nd floor bathroom - This included complete renovation of bathroom including rerouting of plumbing, new electric, radiant heat, new window and new custom glass shower and shower pan. Upon demolition, it was very apparent that the previous contractors that replaced the shower did a very poor job. All of the floor beams were cut in half and the shower that was installed has a leak that rotted out the entire floor. As this was a hazard, SHD worked on correcting the prior mistakes by replacing all of the beams and rotted wood. As the entire bathroom floor has to be replaced, this resulted in the first floor ceiling also needing to be replaced. The work was done quickly and at the end of the work, the ceiling looked better than it did prior. 4. Removal of though-wall air conditioner and fill in of hole/Sheetrock. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with the end result of the work performed. Both bathrooms exceeded our expectations. We have already recommended SHD to others and would definitely have them in for more work in the future.

My basement went from a damp, wrecked room to an amazing room. The transition was remarkable. Their precision work made the basement a high end designed space. I cannot emphasize enough how Steve and Steve Jr. were so professional , eager to please, and personable. At the end of the job, their cleanup made my house look spotless. I have been a client for a number of years and will continue to be so, in the future. I cannot recommend them enough!

Just had our kitchen remodeled by SHD Construction. The owner Steve and his son did a magnificent job. They were always on time, and left our home neat and clean when they left daily, Their workmanship was superior and flawless. They removed everything in our old kitchen down to the studs and then started rebuilding the new kitchen. We had had blown in insulation in our cathedral ceiling and it all came down when they took down the ceiling Sheetrock. What a mess, but it was all cleaned up and new insulation was put in before putting up the new Sheetrock. We have lived in our home for over 40 years and have remodeled our kitchen a few times This is our DREAM kitchen. I watch many HGTV shows so I knew exactly what I wanted. Our floor is a porcelain tile that looks like wood in gray tones. Steve Jr.’s work on our floor is fantastic- the grout lines are so slim it looks like wood planks put down one next to the other. I’ve posted a picture below so you can see the floor. My farmhouse stainless kitchen sink is magnificent- I can bathe a dog or baby in it. I had custom work done on my cabinets because I wanted 3 deep pot drawers in each pantry. Steve worked with the cabinet company to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. My refrigerator is rather deep so he removed the studs in my wall behind in so that it would look like it was built in. I could go on and on about all the little details that Steve and Steve Jr. did in my kitchen but as they say a picture is worth 1,000 words so I’ve added pictures to my review. Oh yes, by the way, they painted my kitchen too- it was included in the price. I can’t say enough about the job they did and will definitely use them in the future. We were extremely happy with the results.

Excellent. We couldn't be happier. They were worth every penny. The price was reasonable and there were no hidden surprises. Since there are only two people working in your home, they are there from start to finish. They work efficiently, timely, neatly and are very responsive. They stand behind their work We left them in our home while we were out of town and everything was fine. We will definitely use them again.

After having great results using SHD for a bathroom retile job, we did not hesitate to call Steve for this bigger job. Once again, we were beyond pleased. Steve and sons are reliable, trustworthy and professional which is a rarity with contractors. Furthermore, the quality of work is top notch. We now have a beautiful Azek deck that will probably last longer than us! Thank you once again, SHD - we will be using you for many more projects.

Extremely well. We are delighted with our completely new bathroom. The job was on time (10 days start to finish exactly as promised) and within budget. No hitches whatsoever.

I contacted SHD construction when my husband and I noticed our first floor ceiling was sagging. Steve and his son, Steve, came over to look at it and take some measurements. They also setup an appointment for a structural architect to come in for a second opinion. Once we decided to go ahead with the work, they went above and beyond with their professionalism and attention to details. They removed closet doors directly above where the beam was going. They removed the ceiling and installed the new beam correctly so that the house was structurally sound. My husband had mentioned that he wanted to install lights in the ceiling, so they installed the wiring for us to do that at a later time. They installed new Sheetrock and spackled it. They then shaved the closet doors upstairs, so they would fit in the newly straightened door jams, and put them back in. During the work, they encountered an electrical problem with some of our lights, so they fixed those as well. We were SO pleased with the work SHD construction did! They took such care to make sure everything was done appropriately and to our liking. Highly recommend!

They did a fantastic job putting down a new vinyl-plank floor in the basement, as well as repairing sections of the drywall and painting the walls, doors, and frames/moldings. They even replaced the handrail on the stairs that was falling out of the wall with a new one that they were able to match to the color of the floor. The cost was among the lowest of the quotes we received, yet the work was still excellent. They were easy to work with throughout and were even very easy-going when minor changes were requested or needed due to the project. I cannot recommend them enough!

I'm not ready yet to do home improvement but will certainly call this company for my home improvement needs.

SHD did an excellent job! They arrived on time and devoted 100%of their time to my job. They offered excellent suggestions and discussed the work in detail before starting so that we both understood what was to be done. They minimized the dust and inconvenience of the work. Their eye to detail was most appreciated and resulted in a spectacular job. Any questions were answered and complaints addressed without hesitation. They recommended vendors for the various purchases (Vendors who supplied the highest quality product). They corrected prior workmen's mistakes as needed without complaint. As craftsmen, they take pride in the job that they do. I believe that the quality of the work was what they would have done in their own home. There was no corner cutting. The work that they did for me was demolition of the existing kitchen including removal of the cabinets and floor. They installed a new tile floor including leveling the existing slab and new cabinets with under cabinet lighting and new lighting in the ceiling. They put in new insulation where needed. They recommended the company for the fabrication and installation of the countertop. The work done by that company proved to be of the highest quality. They installed the tile backsplash and draw pulls and customized the shelves in one of the cabinets at my request. I would hire them again.

First let me state that we were pleasantly surprised. This job included a complete demolition and replacement of the house bathroom. We were skeptical as to how S.H.D. could get so many great reviews. This room included our only shower so down time was a big factor. Steve and Steven installed a new Anderson window, built a linen closet, tiled whole room and tub area, installed fixtures and of course plumbing and electric. They also had to remove and replace dining room ceiling to run new plumbing. Everything was professionally done and turned out excellent. They wasted no time and were a pleasure to have in our home. We would recommend them to anyone looking for help. We already inquired about having additional work done in the spring. We are skeptical no more an A - rating or higher is definitely justified in our opinion.

Everything went great. The result was better than I expected. A father and son team were involved on all work done. Both are welcome to stop by anytime. They are like family. I have asked them for additional work estimates and expect five star results each time. Excellent all around. Highly recommended.

Steve was a true professional in every sense of the word. We had a bathroom that was over 40 years old and everything needed to be replaced. Steve took his time to explain everything to us and his prices were fair. Our bathroom came out beautiful (see pix) and we absolutely love it!!!. We highly recommend him and we will be calling him in the near future for some other projects we have.

We had a bathroom fully gutted and within days, the shower tiles were cracked. We were frustrated with the time and cost of the project, so we looked for a new contractor to do the repairs. SHD had great reviews so we called. Steve was responsive and professional from the first call throughout the duration of the job. His professionalism with scheduling and communication also carried through to his and his son's workmanship. We got a shower tile job (and some extra repairs) that exceeded our expectations. We didn't hesitate to leave Steve or Steve Jr. in our home alone. The job was completed in a timely fashion and at the agreed upon price. We are so pleased, we've had them quote us 2 other jobs in our house. we recommend sHD with zero reservations.

Steve Erdmann has worked in our house on three separate occasions. After Hurricane Sandy, our den began to separate from the rest of the house. Steve actually took the room down to the studs, figured out how to level and reattach it, and then rebuilt it doing all of the plumbing, electrical and painting himself. Steve's work is impeccable. His primary concern is his customer's satisfaction and his workmanship is of the highest quality. He has worked in several friends' homes based on our recommendation, and we all feel that he has become a family friend. Last week he installed a beautiful bathroom for us doing all of the tiling as well as the plumbing and electrical work. He also repaired damage to our kitchen and several walls after a leak in our home during Thanksgiving. We recommend Steve Erdmann and his son Steven Jr. without reservation.

We had a problem where the screen comes out and you can put the storm door. We couldn't get the storm door in. We didn't know if something was wrong with the door or whatever. I called him and he was over in ten minutes. He came right over and fixed the problem. Which really wasn't his fault,it was just we couldn't get the door in and we didn't want to force it and possible brake it. But he came over and just helped us out right away.

I have nothing but good things to say about Steve and his son, who put in a new bathroom and renovated our finished basement after we had water damage from a flood. They were hard-working, courteous, and considerate, and the quality of their work was excellent. Steve helped us get exactly what we wanted while staying within our budget. He worked with us to design a handicapped bathroom for my elderly father that is both beautiful and highly functional. When my father went into the hospital, Steve and his son accommodated us by working hard to get the bathroom done before he came home, even working on the weekend. In fact, the entire job, including the bathroom and basement, was finished in a timely manner. I cannot recommend them highly enough and would work with them again without hesitation.

We are very pleased with the job Steve and his son did for us. We had to wait a bit longer than desired for the work to start but he was devoted to our project once work began. They completely gutted our 1970’s-era living room and hallway. They removed two partial walls opening up the space, and fixed structural problems discovered once the walls were open. At every step along the way Steve met with us, answered questions, reassured us, and honored our requests that may have differed with his ideas. If there were design considerations we discussed them and came to an agreement. Just his patience with us in selecting a new front door is remarkable. Steve thought “outside the box” when removing an old through the wall air conditioner. He found scrap siding that matched our siding and color-matched paint to the weathered siding so that the new area is not noticed. A family of birds were nesting in the old air conditioner, and he made a nest and moved the eggs so he could complete the job. The parents found the eggs and we saw the small bird first leave the nest. We would definitely have Steve and his crew do additional work for us.

Exceptional craftsmanship and professionalism are portrayed in the work that SHD provide to their customers. We recently had our bathroom completely renovated and are extremely pleased with the results. From the start SHD sat down with us and listened to what we needed and what we wanted and fit all of those things into our budget. They were neat with demolition and disposed everything in a timely manner. The quality of work and attention to detail is amazing. We had a new window inserted and the exterior of our home is finished just as nicely as the inside. Tile work is superb and nothing was left unfinished. The vanity fits perfectly against the wall with clean lines. With 2 children and only one bathroom we weren't sure how it would all work out but SHD made it easy for us. They did a great job. Showed up at 8 am every morning and got started right away. The were able to troubleshoot many issues that came up during the remodel. When we needed to add additional tasks to be done, they did them seamlessly. They were professional in every respect. We LOVE our new basement!!
