What a disaster ! I can only blame myself for not being home to supervise this job. I was at work and I asked my son be there. He said Mr Napoli showed up with 2 tow truck operators and they were in a big hurry. They appeared to be having a hard time moving the safe and then the stair climber crapped out. My son ran home to get my battery booster, but Mr Napoli by that time had one of the tow trucks hooked up to my Safe and was dragging it up the concrete stairs, wrapped in blankets and on a diamond plate. Then they slid the safe down my basement steps on wood. I wish I was there because I would have stopped Mr Napoli and insisted on him coming back with the proper working equipment, or have a nice day! My mint condition Safe had scratches and gouges on 2 sides, along with a dented front edge. My Son said over the phone, the safe had some scratches, but didn't notice the dent at that time. What kills me, i told my son to pay him the $300 over the phone from work without seeing the safe. Mr Napoli then charged me an additional $50 to change the combination. He said he usually get $100. He should have changed the combination for free !! I could have went to Home Depot and hired a bunch of day laborers with a toboggan. They would have done a better job. When I called up to complain about the job done, Mr Napoli apologized saying they had a tuff time moving the safe under the conditions. He also remarked that I was putting it in my basement and who's going to notice. He said he would have a touch-up guy come over and repair my safe, but to this day, that has not happened. At least one knows now how a 700 lb safe can be stolen out of your basement. They probably used a tow truck !
Description of Work: Hired Mr Tom Napoli to move a 700 lb Liberty Gun Safe from the basement of a house, 2 doors away from my house. Then move the safe down into my basement. The job was to be performed with a powered stair climber and would be no problem for $300.
