Dan Farley & Son Construction

My overall impression of Dan Farley is that he is a very thorough and honest contractor.
I first dealt with Dan ~8 years ago when I first looked into having my roof replaced. Of the 6 contractors I had estimate the job Dan was one of only two that actually got up on the roof. One roofer even provided an estimate for installing a new layer of shingles over the existing roof even though I already had two layers of shingles on the house. Dan provided me a reasonable quote but then informed me that in his opinion my roof had another 6-8 years left inthe existing roof and I didn’t need to have the work done right away.
When I decided to replace the roof in October, 2012 I again called Dan for an estimate.
- He stopped by the same day I called and spent ~45 minutes performing a thorough inspection.
- He came by the house 2 days later to review his estimate and spent ~20 minutes reviewing the details of what needed to be done and why. He also included pictures of problem areas which none of the other contractors did.
- His estimate was very competitive. It was right of the middle of the 6 estimates I received.
- The work was done in a timely fashion. The house tear off and re-shingle was performed in one day and the enclosed porch and shed roofs were replaced the next day they came out.
- The dumpster was taken away the morning after tear off was completed.
- I have only come across one nail when mowing the lawn after the job was completed.
Overall I am very happy with the work done and would highly recommend Dan Farley and Son Construction for roofing work.

They were good. They did a good job on replacing the gutters. They were reasonable and I was not annoyed with the price at all. It seemed like a fair price to me.

He is very methodical. He is very picky. We called other people, but they weren't thorough. He came out and he showed the photos of all the different projects he has done. He showed us how things should be done, how things shouldn't be done, how to do it differently, and how to relate to our situation. He could have charged me a lot more. He came in and started the work off. He didn't charge us anything more than he said he would. He showed us the work done by the previous roofer and the places where they faulted. We had faced a lot of ice damming and leaking problem. He stands by his work. He said if we have anything then we can call him and he would come out to look at it.

This could not have been easier from my perspective. Dan was extremely professional, punctual and straightforward. He made sure I understood everything that was to happen with the roof and why. Everything happened on the agreed-upon schedule and the work appears to have been done with great attention to detail. The crew cleaned up after themselves every day and I never found so much as a nail, or a stray piece of debris, anywhere.

It went very well. Dan explains things very well and takes pictures of the damaged area so you can actually see visually what Dan is describing. The work was done when Dan said it would be done. Any phone call we made was always returned promptly. We could not be more satisfied.

The project went very smoothly from Dan's quick response to my inquiry and his providing me with an estimate to completion of the job once I signed the contract. Dan and his crew were always very professional and thoroughly explained the project. Once the weather permitted, the crew arrived and completed the roof in one day and cleaned up the debris. The dumpster was removed the next day. The only negative comment I have is that my broom disappeared, presumably during the clean-up process.

Dan Farley Contracting did a great job. The owner is a very smart businessman who is very friendly, and has a great crew.
