2 months later, we had the porch railing done, front steps that are crowned wrong, deck done but the railing needs to be redone because it is not attached correctly, and the deck stairs are completely wrong and will not pass code. The electrical is complete except for the lighting fixtures- the electrical subcontractor was great. Insulation and drywall is done, but he didn't cover the walls and drywall dust is all over everything. They also drywalled right over where a smoke detector is supposed to go. The rough plumbing has to be completely redone, as per inspection. The only part of heating system we have is the holes cut in the sub-floor. The cupboards are installed incorrectly, so need to be reinstalled. The countertop is in, we paid for it and did the install ourselves. Half of the doors had started to be put in, but are all incorrect and have to be redone. When we started to question why the heating guy hadn't been back, we learned that the subcontractors we not being paid. That's when Don Fish quit (Aug. 27th), and then he put a lien on our house, so we can't continue with construction (and we're still waiting for a court date!) He has been paid for more than he completed. For example, he's claiming $4000.00 for the countertops, and we paid for them completely, and much less than that price. We will incur added expenses for everything that needs to be redone due to his incompetence.
Description of Work: Was to finish our log home construction, from dried in to completion. Needed heating system, all electrical, all interior work. Also build deck, do porch railings, and both outside sets of stairs. He said he'd have a crew there and we'd be in our home in a month.
