All salvageable plantings were cut back. Those plants that required removal were replaced by carefully chosen, high quality plants. These plants flourished over the summer. In the Autumn, the plantings were pruned and readied for Winter and the following Spring.
This year, last year's efforts were clearly apparent.
We are extremely happy with the overall quality of the work performed by Bryan Christman and his assistant(s).
I checked the and quot;N/Aand quot; box regarding the price of the work because we did not get any other estimate, but the cost was acceptable to my friend and he thought it was reasonable. It was getting later into the fall for the re-seeding and because Bryan is so customer oriented, my friend asked that he do the work as soon as he could, which he did - to our complete satisfaction!
plan to have them do other yard work in the future. Highly recommend them.
"Thank you for the review. It can be tough determining where the edge of the driveway is if it is not marked. I was not aware of the damage until now, but I will fix it when things are thawed out. That first storm was a hard one because the snow got packy and I could not backblade at all, which meant a lot of extra shoveling. But that's the snow business and you do what you have to do. Thanks again, Bryan Christman"
"When I saw the 6" deep leaves all over and especially covering the storm drains I knew there could be some real problems with flooding of your property and the main road through the town, not to mention a huge truckload of wet leaves if they were left until afterwards. The job ended up being a bit more than I expected with lots of branches under the leaves, but I was glad to be able to get it cleaned up before Sandy hit. Thanks for your report! Bryan Christman"
"I don't know why this customer posted another report to the work we did a over a year ago with a few minor changes. (Original report is dated 4/26/11). As far as the original job I was tempted to respond that the customer probably did not realize how difficult it was to clean up the fall leaves that were left for the whole winter of 2010/2011 (which was extremely snowy and packed the leaves down plus dropped many large branches that we cleaned up). The customer was not present during most of the time we worked there. It was one of the most difficult spring leaf cleanups I have ever done in nearly 30 years of experience and simply sticking to my estimate and doing as good a job as we could was already going the extra mile. As far as the "area by the shed" I had simply forgotten to cleanup a small bed area that amounted to probably less than 5% of the entire job and when I was reminded by the customer when they arrived we cleaned it out. If I had charged the customer for the actual time we spent there it would have been $100 more. But I have always tried to stick to my estimates even if I know it should cost more (I don't expect my customer to know that and don't bring it to their attention that I think they got a deal from my perspective.) Respectfully submitted by Bryan Christman, Owner."
I asked him to pull out a small tree because we thought it was ugly. Any other landscaper would have just pulled it and charged us. Brian decided that after pulling out the surrounding shrubs that the tree looked too good to get rid of so he left it in place. When I got home he was there and said he just couldn't bring himself to pull the tree out. He made a plea in person as to why the tree should stay. And he was right, it looked good after all the other shrubs were removed and I decided to keep it. He would have made more money by just pulling the tree but he obviously cared more about how our yard would look than his bottom line which is pretty exceptional. Anyway, I've used Brian since last year for a spring clean up and again he did an awesome job.
