TRUSTCO BANK

I took out CDs from this bank about 4 years ago. At that time I was told I had to have a checking account in order to have the CDs and the minimum balance in the checking account was $200. I didn't want the checking account but there was no choice. The CDs have been rolling over for auto renewal. As of last summer I discovered that TRUSTCO had started taking small amounts out of the $200 checking account as service charges. They had never done so before. I confronted them and they agreed to stop. I asked them to refund the money they had taken from me but they did not. I asked them to contact me about this after exploring policy and they did not. Trustco has taken about $70 from the checking account I didn't want that I was required to open.

Great so far. We have not closed on the house yet. Very competitive closing costs. I researched ten plus companies to get the best rate and lowest closing cost. Trustco's interest rate was similar to others but closing cost were lower by $300 to $900 compared to others. Excellent service, easy application process.
