When he put the attic back together he did a terrible job. He left a gap in the eaves under the roof and a bird ended up nesting in my attic. He didn’t believe me when I told him of this. We agreed to a contract that he would have the all of the work completed by spring of 2012. He was still doing work on my home in November 2012, almost a year after I hired him. He did not finish the work to my expectations and damaged several other things in the process. He continued to ask me for money up front for materials and when I asked him to provide the receipts, the only thing he could give me was an invoice that he made himself. I checked into pricing myself and found that he inflated the prices he charged me. I have never seen actual proof of his purchases. After I paid him the second installment, he disappeared from my job without any notification. Afterwards he was full of excuses. Because of this I refused to pay him the last $3000 because he broke the contract and didn’t do what he was supposed to. We are now handling this through small claims court. This has been a horrible experience and I am very wary of this man. I don’t want anyone else to go through what I have gone through.
