Darin gave me an estimate. He also told me about solar options for which there are (until the end of 2008) tax incentives. Alas, I did not have the funds to take advantage of these right now. However, after waiting several months for me to get personal and NYSERDA financing lined up, Darin scheduled the job. He and his helper were very professional and polite and the system they installed is beautiful (for a boiler) with many cut-offs to make it easy to maintain. I will be better able to judge the value of the system when I see my fuel bills this winter (they were awful last winter so I'm hoping for a dramatic improvement).
Description of Work: Darin installed a Buderus Blue Flame oil boiler and hot water heater. It is a high (about 89%) efficiency system. Darin is one of the few people in the area certified to install the system. NYSERDA helped me pay for the system; the price quoted above is for the whole job, not just my portion of it. I was introduced to the NYSERDA assistance program and to Darin by an energy auditing company.
