SCHENECTADY FLOOR COVERING

They did a great job. Cleaned up afterwards. Very professional crew.

We needed to update the look of our kitchen and basement recreation room.  Schenectady Floor Covering sent George to neasure (he actually sent himself; he's the Chief Operations Officer).  George listened to our requirements, measured the areas, and made several good suggestions as to how to proceed; Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) for the kitchen area, and carpet for the recreation room.
We then visited the Schenectady Floor Covering showroom and spoke with an in-house designer, Emily.  She was already up to speed with the information and suggestions given to us by George.  Emily had laid out several samples for review.  All looked to be good fits for what we had in mind.  After some discussion and further suggestions from Emily based on the colors we had, we decided on the pattern and color for both the LVT and the carpet. 
Both had to be ordered.  Estimated lead time was  1 week to 10 days.  It was around the holidays, so we were prepared for some hiccups.  We were not disappointed.
Emily called to inform us the LVT would not be available until after the holidays.  To their credit, Schenectady Floor called as soon as they were notified by the manufacturer.  Delays sometimes happen, in our world, and we appreciated the immediate "heads-up".  It's better to know of delays two weeks in advance, rather than the day before.
After the holidays, unfortunately, we received another, very apologetic, call from Emily saying the shipment was going to be further delayed.  It seems two manufacturers (one of them the one we were using) were in the middle of a merger and their order-ship-bill process was suffering greatly.  Emily suggested some alternatives.  We concurred that was probably the best course of action.  A couple of weeks later, we visited the showroom.  Emily, again, had several suggestions laid out for us.  Emily's suggestions were "right on the money."  We ordered the replacement LVT.
A week later, George called to schedule an installation date.  We could not be there, but we did have a lockbox installed on our front door.  Schenectady Flooring used the lockbox, let themselves in, installed everything that was expected, cleaned up and left.  When we arrived a few days later, we were very pleased to see everything looking absolutely top-notch. 
While at first we were a little apprehensive about an installation when we could not be there, but we needn't have worried.  George, the installation crew, Emily, and the rest of the Schenectady Floor Covering Staff took very good care of us.  The customer service at the store, and the customer service at the installation site was excellent.
We can recommend Schenectady Floor Covering to our friends, and we will certainly use them again in the future.

The estimate was slightly below other providers. They did use three unused boxes of the same flooring that was left in the basement from the builder. Schenectady Floor Covering was able to match the existing hardwood floor exactly. The crew was polite and worked throughout the day with an hour break for lunch. The installation went great and the job was done in a day and a half. It would have been nice for them to use a cloth broom instead of a push broom because the dust was everywhere when they finished. There was a slight oversight on my part with moving furniture but the consultant worked with us to minimize a charge above the quoted estimate. We are very happy with our new floors.

They did very poor work and were very messy. They left trash everywhere and carpet glue all over my bathroom floor. They took off my closet and bedroom doors and then proceeded to put them on backwards. Additionally, when I got home I noticed numerous items in my home were missing. I contacted the business owner and he proceeded to take no action on this matter. I filed a police report with the sheriff's office and they declared it a burglary and are currently investigating.

I would recommend them. They were good. In the end it was great. There was an issue, which they came and fixed without a question. We were happy with them in both cases.

The selection of possible floors was quite extensive. They readily allowed us to take sample panels home to see how the worked in our home. The only hitch in the process was the time between placing the order and the new material arriving. The installation crew was very professional and worked well together. They clearly knew what they were doing and had little problem installing the flooring as a single piece in spite of the odd shape of the kitchen.

THEY DO PROFESSIONAL WORK. THEY TREATED ME, THE CUSTOMER, PROFESSIONALLY. THEY DID EXCELLENT WORK. I COULD NOT FIND A BETTER PERSON. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE GENTLEMAN TO ANYONE.
