Company installed a unit without considering size of house, and installed a unit too large. Did not exercise due diligence when estimating. New furnace would continually overheat and cycle off. They could not diagnose or fix the problem. After repeated service calls I diagnosed the problem myself. The furnace was starving for air because they did not cut out the side of the furnace enough to supply the volume of air the new unit needed. I told them and basically was told that if anything needed to be adjusted in the air supply it was our problem. I was from that point never contacted again (silence). I called in another Heating company who diagnosed it in about 3 minutes. They cut a larger opening for the furnace to breath and it now works perfectly. Would never hire again...

My hot water tank had developed a leak and needed to be replaced. It was 30 years old. I called Rotterdam Heating at 10:30am and by 4:30pm my hot water tank was replaced. Very thankful since my wife was being discharged from the hospital the same day. My original installer fell through. Rotterdam Heating responded quickly, professionally and were extremely neat. It took approx 1 hour to fully install. Cannot be more greatful. Also, the cost was less than the original outfit. I am glad they fell through. Thank you Rotterdam Heating & A/C

Very knowledgeable, very reputable, very professional, kind , respectful, honest and my whole family is using them.

The installation was great. The equipment works great. BUT... I have a contract that reads 12 years of parts and labor from the Mfg for the Daiken AC/heat pump Rotterdam HVAC installed last year. After the installation and my payment in full, I find out that the Mfg. says 12-year parts/1 year labor. I also have emails stating that the price without the 12year labor would be $400-600 cheaper. I paid the extra money specifically to get the 12year labor warranty, I have contacted this company multiple times to resolve this but nothing has been done. I think I deserve a $500 refund, don’t you? Be careful with these people!

Rotterdam Heating/AC recently installed a multizone heat pump at my house and I have nothing but thanks and appreciation for their workmanship. It began when Nick came to my house to give me a proposal. He spent a lot of time looking over my house and planning what system would work best for my needs. I could tell he was not just “selling” me equipment but was analyzing how the equipment could be installed effectively and efficiently. I found out later that Nick used to be an installer. He is exactly the type of person you would want to do your equipment and installation proposal. Nick problem solved and then gave me options. Installation day came and Henry and Alex arrived on time ready to go. They knew exactly what was supposed to happen and after reviewing it with me began the install. I quickly noticed how Henry, the senior more experienced installer, worked. Thoughtful, planned with attention to detail. Exactly the type of person I want working in my house. There was one problem with the stand size. The one Henry and Alex were given was too small for my outdoor unit. Henry got right on the phone and in short order, Robert, their parts manager, shows up with the correct size stand. He stayed to help finish the installation so that all the work was done correctly. If you want fancy uniforms and shiny trucks, then pay more and go with a company that advertises for your business. But if you want great work from an experienced company with knowledgeable people, then call Rotterdam Heating/AC. Thank you, Nick, Henry, Alex, Robert, and everyone at Rotterdam Heat/AC. David K

It went very badly. It required several calls, visits to repair but in the end they simply made things worse. While trying to bleed the system they broke a bleeder valve. It ending up causing thousands in water damage and they refuse to take any responsibility. Worst of all this was for my elderly mother and during a December/January cold snap.

Work done quickly and professionally.

We've used them for different things over the years. It was pretty reasonable. They installed it because we didn't have central air conditioning. They had done other heating work for us. We had looked around and they also did air conditioning.

On 12/18/15 my Bryant heat pump stopped working which was installed by Rotterdam Heating & Cooling failed (stopped working) at 3 ½ years old.   A service tech named Barry G came out from Rotterdam H&A  on an emergency call and changed the thermostat and was able to start the emergency heat.   He verbally told me that the unit had a coil issue.  However, when I got the receipt, it stated something else...it stated that the RVS (reversing valve) needed to be replaced and that the coil tested ok.   Barry took 2 1/5 hours to diagnosis the unit and charged me $400.28 for the visit.  I have been told that replacing the RVS is very labor intensive, with one outfit telling me it would take 6 hours to do the job.
 I opted to get a 2nd opinion and was told "Thermostat has orange wire going to B instead of O terminal.  With orange on O, condenser starts, discharge pressure rises to 550 psig and the compressor shuts down on high pressure, house is not heated. Suspect air handler coil is undersized for heating."I was referred back to the original installer because it was suggested that the
Freon was overfilled and that the air handler was undersized which all pointed back to the installation.  I contacted the manufacturer, Bryant, and they also told me that these issues needed to be addressed with the installer.
I called Rotterdam H & A over 2 weeks ago and discussed the 2nd opinion with a female staff member and I was told that she would pull the installation file and get back to me but to date I have not received a call back.   I emailed Rotterdam H & A on
Feb 5, 2016 asking them resolve the issue and they have not contacted me.
I have been running on emergency heat and my electric bill for the last 2 months has been twice what it normally is...approximately $500 more and counting.

I called Rotterdam Heating after one night with a furnace that wouldn't run properly.  After speaking to their receptionist first thing in the morning, I was set up with an early afternoon appointment.  The service technician showed up on time and thoroughly inspected the furnace and corrected the problem.  Very professional company from start to finish.

All we can say ... It went very well!
