 + -1 moreIf you want an extremely thorough, detailed, itemized and honest home inspection done, I can't recommend him enough. He was there BEFORE we got to the house and had already started the exterior perimeter. He is absolutely knowledgeable about homes (older homes especially) and if you want an unfiltered opinion, he will give it. (the listing agent wandered around too and the homeowner was there later and David acted like they weren't even there--he will get the job done and not mince words). If you hire him, plan on about 4 hours for the inspection (we were in the basement itself for TWO hours--he is terrifically thorough and will teach you everything you might EVER need to know about your future house). My only issue was that he addressed everything to my husband--not to me! I wasn't offended (though others might be) but just laughed--I am the "House person" my husband doesn't have a clue about home improvement!
Description of Work: Mr. Rickard performed a home inspection and radon test for us (for total price of $385--inspection alone is $265) on a 1921 house in Albany. He goes from room to room and inspects electrical, heating/cooling, insulation, roofing etc. He then gives you a 20-30 page detailed report on his findings so you don't have to memorize all info during the inspection. Frankly for what we got his price isn't high enough!! Best money ever spent!
