I was told the cost would be $145 for xray and additional money for tech fees, but every additional xray thereafter for same pregnancy would be $50. I paid over $200 the first time, it took all of 3 minutes. When I called today to schedule another set due to the mere guesswork done the first time and a scare that Dr. Hernas "hopes my beloved dog won't need a C-Section" counting skulls, rather than spines like 2 years ago, with one skull separated from the others, a different person answered the phone and said the cost for additional xrays would remain the same as first time and that the other individual was mistaken. I recognize her voice, she always seems to go with high costs, wouldn't surprise me if she was pocketing the extra costs. It would seem that the office would have a consistent cost that all receptionists could quote. I may go back to Sunnyside which I have used in the past. The so called technician was one of the same people that are always there. Additionally, they do not even give you a copy (electronic or hard) of theextremely costly xray, but show you on an ipad. She was kind, responsive and she referred me to a specialist for my cat. Her office is nice.

Have been to this clinic before and been satisfied with Carla Hernas, but this time we saw a veterinarian (Dr. Roberts) who we were not familiar with. She wanted to examine the cat, a perfectly normal request, but when told what kind of difficulties had been encountered with this previously, refused to listen, continued to talk over us, got upset when the cat proceeded to do her usual terrorizing of the vet and left the room in a huff. We sat there for an additional 25 minutes with no indication of what would happen next. I would recommend that anyone using this office for a problem with their cat, request Dr. Hernas and reaffirm that they would NOT like to be seen by Dr. Roberts. I don't know how she would be with dogs and I cannot vouch for her listening skills.

I love Dr. Hernas at Hernas Veterinary Clinic. I have been taking my pets to her for about fifteen years. I had a German shepherd that I used to take to her. She doesn't try to fluff anything. She is very compassionate. I like her straight forwardness. My cat has gum disease and there is really nothing more that can be done. She wasn't eating so I took her to the clinic about a few weeks ago. They gave her subcutaneous fluids. They also gave her a shot of cortisone and a shot of antibiotics. She got much better. I went back a week ago to talk to Dr. Hernas about having my cat's teeth pulled. She said she would talk to another veterinarian that does dental work and do the needful. She is totally honest with me. She informed me that pulling the teeth will not necessarily cure her gum disease. Dr. Hernas handled the whole situation really well. She told me the truth without making me feel helpless. She also gave me some medicines in case my cat acted the way like she did before. The medicines would also help me prolong the teeth pulling as long as possible. They charged me a little over $100 which included the office visit, medicines and they also took her blood samples. Their prices are comparable to other places. I would continue to use Hernas Veterinary Clinic.

Buddy died, but that's what happens with canine lymphoma. Dr. Hernas kept in contact with his vet at Cornell, and we got over 8 months from the time of diagnosis 'til Buddy was too sick to go on. If he hadn't been treated, he would have been dead in two weeks. Dr. Hernas has been doing this a long time and knows her stuff. She recommended a canine oncologist nearer by than Ithaca, and knew about the various chemo protocols for canine lymphoma. I'll be taking my four remaining dogs (and cat) to her.

Her staff is wonderful. She is fantastic as well. Her prices are good. She is very knowledgeable and her staff is as well. They have an area where they let the dogs run free during the day. They use top notch products as well.

She was wonderful. She was sympathetic, practical and realistic. She is professional and knowledgeable. Her office staff is polite and friendly. I would highly recommend her.

They are really par for the course and they send post cards for checkups. My animals really like the assistant. The office is always clean and they have a nice waiting area. I would recommend them to others.
