CLARK'S FLOOR SVC

I hired Clarks Floor Service(Tom and Joe) in May 2013 to refinish my hardwood floors(2bedrooms, living room and hallway). The first day they sanded and cleaned the floors and applied the first coat of poly. The second day they lightly scuffed the floor and applied the second coat of semi gloss poly(which by the next day dried to 3 different finishes....gloss in the living room, semi in the bedroom and flat in the other bedroom!) They were both surprised at the results but came back to apply the third and final coat of semi gloss after a light scuffing of the floor. The next day when it was dry, the two bedrooms and hallway were fine(semigloss) but the living room was flat. I called Tom and and he came back, scuffed the living room and applied the forth coat which again dried flat. They both told me that they stirred the poly often and to call the factory. I did call and all they would say was they were not stirring enough. I called Tom again and he agreed to scuff and coat again but he needed $200 more to cover poly and labor(which like an idiot I paid just to get the job done). Well this coat also dried flat....not even close to the other rooms! After that neither Tom or Joe would answer their phones ,texts or emails. So after a month I gave up, bought some poly and tried it myself. Well I put it on to thick so it bubbled. Shortly after, with some help, we got in touch with Joe who promised to make it right as soon as the poly I put down cured. As you can guess we never heard from him again. I just got done hiring another contractor who sanded and polyed the living room and it looks great. That cost me another $450!!!!!!!! But at least its finely done. The moral of the the story is...TO BE A GOOD CONTRACTOR SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO TAKE ONE FOR THE TEAM AND COMPLETE THE JOB NO MATTER THE COST. PEOPLE HIRE YOU AND TRUST YOU TO PERFORM YOUR JOB WITH NO EXCUSES AND NOT JUST BAIL ON THEM WHEN THINGS ARE NOT GOING YOUR WAY. I have worked hard for everything I have and take pride in the work that I do...I just don't understand how these "contractors" can look at themselves in the mirror!
