Manicures/Nails
The ladies of Town Nail were very nice, very welcoming in fact. I was taking my mother to get her nails done. We barely waited. My mother was ushered to her spa chair and I instructed one of the ladies that I would be paying for the services.
All went well I thought.
Except my mother says her hands were massaged but not her arms.
Her cuticles could have been cleaned better, her feet weren't pumiced very well and more time should have been spent doing that.
(once the lotion is lathered onto your feet the job looks great, but give it a few hours, then, well, we're back to square one). And yes my mother likes to use gloves when she cleans and her sox and slippers, so it ain't her. I guess she felt it was rushed and lazy when it came to the pedicure services.
(I have personally had manicures and pedicures that have lasted for days. I have gels done on my hands and feet that include a mani-pedi and that's at $30/per service, it's a meticulous job, includes leg/foot massage and hand/arm massage, that I don't have to request, they are excellent and the owner is holding a music CD for me when I return LOL.. sorry folks, that salon is in Los Angeles, CA).
Well, my mother won't be returning unfortunately. Not for the price listed for services (mani-pedi @$35) -- She told me there is a Nail Salon she frequents where she is charged $22 for a mani-pedi/proper massage included, but not requested, and she walks away satisfied. Guess I'll be going to her watering hole
To be clear, I've seen other manicurists at Town Nail Salon, while waiting for my mother that day, that were massaging their clients arms and hands. I think it was the manicurist/pedicurist (same person) that my mother had. BUT, DON'T YOU THINK it's in the best interest of the business to make an excellent impression on all NEW clients? Just sayin'
One more time, the above is based on the one manicurist/pedicurist at Town Nail Salon performing the services for my mother, HAPPY NEW YEAR
