RE/MAX Prime Properties

My aunt is a real estate broker in California and she found Miriam Bernstein for us. Miriam is great and I love her. We flew out from Kentucky to meet her. We told her that we needed to live on one of the major train rides north of the city and that my husband needed to be able to walk to the train. She took us all over Westchester County in her car for 3 days. We looked just at everything. She took us in all the different neighborhoods: urban, rural, suburban and little village areas. As she got to know us more and more, she opened up to us, and the more we saw, the more things got really clear. She was just really good taking us around and fitting us in with things that we didn?t have appointments for. We did a lot of driving, and it was probably the hottest possible time in the month of July. We had some strictness about what we could see and what we couldn?t. We found a place pretty early. The selling real estate agent told us that we could rent it after living in it for a year, which we wanted, because we weren?t sure how long we were going to stay in New York. Miriam suggested that we get that in writing, and when it came in writing, we saw that it was two years and not one. She caught it and really saved us. Besides that, the place was only 800 sq. ft. and not 1100 sq. ft., as was informed to us. They completely lied about the measurements. She caught a lot of other stuff that I don?t even remember now. The very last place that we looked at is the one that we are in right now. It was a little bit more than we had wanted to pay. We loved the place and made an offer very close to the asking price, because we wanted it. The neighborhood was better too. We canceled the deal with the other agent. Miriam had a good attitude and was cheery the whole time. She got half of what the seller had quoted. They had a tenant in it and so we couldn?t move in until November. We needed someplace to live in because we had to come out here in September, when schools start. She suggested a temporary rental, and even without seeing the site, we moved into it. We were there for 4 months, and it was comfortable. My husband could walk to the train station. Miriam has a great sense of humor. I like her because she tells it like it is but she doesn?t get in your way. She helped us a lot. I would use her again if needed. I have already recommended her to about 7 people. I enjoyed her company too. We had her over for dinner because we missed her.
