Joe advertises SEASONED firewood. My wife and I ran out of wood two weeks ago and needed wood that we can burn now. I told Joe this on the phone and he said no problem. He dropped off 2 chords of green UNSEASONED wood. I took him for his word and was busy so I didn't inspect the load before I paid him $600 cash. When I realized the wood was green I text him. He ignored me. Then my wife called him and he said it was air-dried for two years and guaranteed it was seasoned. The EPA defines seasoned wood as having a moisture content of 20% or less. We bought a moister meter and the wood is between 30-60%. Not a single piece was 20% or lower. What's worse is that the wood was so poorly split the pieces are enormous. They will take twice as long to season. We were not rude to him, we didn't use profanity, we didn't raise our voices. We just asked him to make it right and he blocked us. Think twice about doing business with a man this dishonest. He risked his reputation over a lousy $600. What if this was the last of our money? What if our kids were cold because we have no burnable wood? What if we burned the wood without knowing it was dangerous and we had a house fire?

Not so good. We ate now in litigation with the town of Woodstock. Also due to the bad fill used and the poor quality of work. Fill used is so bad the DEC has been called in. When asked, J Karolys said he did not have insurance to cover any of the damages. Don't let this happen to you...do your homework on this company. There are many stories about them on the internet. I'm not the first. All the above can be documented with a call to the Woodstock New York building department or Kingston NY branch of the Department of Environmental Control.
