The chimney and fireplace in our 50's ranch has been leaking off and on for years. we had hoped that a new roof and flashings would fix it, but by the time it leaked again, the roofer was out of business. We tried to fix the flashing ourselves and would patch and paint the ceiling, but if not that year, the next year would bring water cascading inside and outside the stone chimney and across the ceiling in an ever widening area. We called other roofers and masons, but Dave Graves was the only one who gave us the courtesy of a return call, much less an estimate. Both Linda Graves, the president of the company, and her husband Dave, the master mason, came to our house to check out the roof and chimney in order to prepare an estimate, which we received within the week. Dave explained that it was the chimney itself and not just the flashing that was causing our problems. Do you know that feeling when you know finally you are in good and capable hands? Well that is the sensation we experienced upon meeting Linda and Dave and we were not mistaken. Dave and his crew (including several sons) arrived on schedule. The work was done according to the estimate and despite the torrential rains this summer, we have not had a drop of water. And, what we didn't even anticipate was that the new stone cap on the chimney is a striking new decorative feature.
