Star Motors

I spoke to Paul (owner?) the day before to see if I needed to make an appt. for the services. He said that if I brought it in the next morning at 8am (when they opened), I'd be out in 45 mins.
It wasn't the easiest place to find... no sign from the road, etc. And once I found it and drove in, I was a little apprehensive due to the appearance of the building and parking lot. BUT I had read here on Angie's List that 'if you were looking for a fancy waiting room, etc. this wasn't the place, but if you were looking for a good mechanic, it was'... so I stayed. When I looked a little more closely at the cars that were in his parking lot (Mercedes', Saab's, BMW's), I felt a little better, knowing that the people that owned those cars must trust Star Motors with their high end vehicles.
I briefly went over with Paul what I needed done and he told me to give him 45 mins. I went next door to have a coffee and wait at Mc. Donald's, and walked back 40 mins. later and my car was done.
Paul drove my car around and apologized for the potholed parking lot saying that by the next time I come in his parking lot should be fixed.
And I will be back... in 5000 miles or 1/14... whichever comes first. :)

excellent, wish I live closer to his shop

I found Star Motors on saabnet.com. They came highly recommended so I gave them a shot. They really did a great job and were very professional. The price was also very fair. They asked if I wanted to use SAAB OEM parts or non-OEM parts. I will definitely use them again.

The mechanic over there is excellent. I have been using him for 20 years. He has been around for a long time. The owners name is Paul and he is excellent and is an excellent mechanic. He is extremely honest. He is extremely low priced and he knows what he is doing. He is very accommodating and if something is wrong with your car he would take you in right away. I guess he treats me a little bit more special because I am an old customer. He always diagnoses the problem and fixes it and gives you the most honest price. I drive a BMW and I wouldn't be able to afford to drive that if I didn't have him as my mechanic. I met somebody from Georgia who comes to him to fix it. Some people might be turned off by his cleanliness and comfort of his waiting room which is not really a waiting room. It is at the back of some stores and it is kind of ugly. It doesn't matter because he is such a good mechanic but it might turn some people off but it doesn't turn me off. It wouldn't stop me from recommending him to somebody. If somebody is fussy about the waiting room then they might not be happy about this. To me the mechanic counts and the man knows what he is doing and he is really honest and that's all you need from a car mechanic.
