I discovered Competition Tree through Angie's List, where they have an A rating. I am very glad that I did. Rich called me immediately and gave me an estimate within a day or two. Just a few days later, he and his team were at my home and did a great job. Every branch was taken away. I believe Rich charged a fair price, and was also very courteous and personable. Highly recommended.

Rich and his team was outstanding. Rich quickly gave me a proposal, showed up on time to do the job, went above-and-beyond including doing a great job stump grinding and cleaned up thoroughly. Would definitely hire again. Thanks Rich!

Punctual. Did exactly what was on the estimate. I had to sweep up a little after they left.

The job went well. They came when they said they would, did exactly what we agreed upon, cleaned up and all for a fair price. I would definitely use them again.

Maybe I caught this guy on a bad day given his other reviews. Cut down dead tree and left wood on site (which we agreed on). Was supposed to trim 5 trees (3 arborvitaes, 2 pines). Within 50 min his guys cut down the tree and he just had a pole cutter, walked around and only trimmed these 5 trees with about 30 snips. I asked why he didn't trim the tops of the trees or the back of the trees. He said he would need to come back in the fall to do it. I didn't know when you ask for a tree to be trimmed, you needed to specify the ENTIRE tree!?!? Anyway, for $600.00 cash, this was not comprehensive as I would have expected. Would not rehire.

Rich and team did a great job. I spoke with Rich who provided a fair price and scheduled the work for a timely date (2 days from receiving estimate). I had to work that day, when I arrived home from work the job was completed and cleaned up nicely. I was impressed with timely and clean work. Thanks Rich for the fine job. Rich and his crew were punctual and professional. It took about two hours, as estimated. All debris was cleaned up and removed. I couldn't be more pleased. I will use him again for pruning in the Spring.

They came promptly and gave a fair quote. The job was done while I was at work. All that remained of the tree was a dent in the ground by the stump and a crack in a flower pot that a branch must have hit. The stump was cut really close to the ground. I won't have any trouble covering it up.

Rich called me the day after my inquiry with an estimate that was right in line with everyone else i got quotes from. I went with him because he took the time to explain his schedule and what he recommended be done. They arrived exactly on time on the day we scheduled and completed the job in 20 minutes. Excellent work, would absolutely hire them again.

I had left messages with several tree services in the area and hadn't heard back from any of them. I was concerned because It was Friday afternoon and I needed someone right away, as the preschool children couldn't use the playground until this was done. Then a friend went on Angie's List and found Competition Tree and urged me to call them because of their impressive reviews. I left a message and Rich called me back 5 minutes later and said he would come by that evening to check out the tree. He came by that night, after I had left work, and called to give me a price and let me know he would be there to cut it down the next morning. He arrived at 7am Saturday morning, cut down the large branch, and stacked the pieces neatly in the adjacent shed for firewood. He then thoroughly cleaned the area, all before I even arrived at work that day! The other tree guys called me back days later, when the job had already been long done by Rich!!!

Rich responded promptly and came next day for estimate. The work was done 2 days later while I was at work. Very dependable and very neat. Tree was cut into sections and neighbors took for firewood.

We were so happy with this company. The owner responded quickly to my message. He was there the next day to give an estimate. We hired right away. They were right on time to do the job. They did the job quickly and efficiently. They also cleaned up after the job was done. We were very happy with the service. We would hire again if needed. I will recommend.

I called for an estimate on 2/17/16 he came on 2/18/16 and he came on 2/19/16 to cut down tree and trimmed my other tree. He said he would be here in the morning and he was. Cut down the tree fast and grind the stump very professional. and did a good job. would hire again.

I bought the coupon for tree service for $299 for $400 worth of service.  I was contacted by Rich from Competition Tree Service  the same day and called to get an estimate.  He showed up the next day and we booked the appointment for a few days later.  Rich and his team arrived promptly and trimmed all my large oak trees.  I had to leave and felt very comfortable having the team do the work while I was gone.  When I returned home I was very pleased with what they did.  Now, no branches are touching the house or hanging low.  I have another large tree to be removed after PSE&G comes and cuts it below the power lines.  I will definitely call Rich to come and do the job.  He is very reliable and the property was left spotless.  Thank you Rich!

Competition Tree Service was top notch all around.They called back promptly to my inquiry.  They were able to come out and give me an estimate the same day that we spoke.  3 days later my trees were removed.  They could not have been more professional and efficient with regards to responsiveness and efficiency.  Rich at Competition Tree gave me a very competitive estimate and did the work for exactly the price quoted.  Rich and his crew were extremely professional and did great work.  One tree had numerous massive branches hanging over my roof with skylights and the trunk of this big oak was only about 15 feet from my house.  They were able to carefully remove this limb by limb in a very tight spot with great care to make sure my home wasn't damaged in the process.  They did an outstanding job grinding down stumps in my front yard - one of which was butted right up against the pavers lining my driveway with not a even a scratch to the pavers - very impressive work.  I highly recommend Rich and Competition Tree Service to anyone looking to get tree pruning or removal. 

I called Competition about a week before service, looking for a tree to be removed and some other work.  I got a call back right away and a visit to discuss details and provide an estimate.  The estimate was great -- far better and clearer than others I had gotten -- and they asked when I needed the work done.  I said anytime soon, they called back and did the work within a week.  The tree that had to come down was a problem, it was between two sets of power lines and next to a fence.  They got it down with no grief and cut the stump to ground level.  I had a big maple to trim, with branches intertwined in a power line and over a fence, and they handled that perfectly as well.  Last, I had a giant pile of branches from my attempts at trimming all the rest of the trees on my property.  They carted it all away.  The crew was professional, clean, speedy, and courteous.  They asked if everything was done to my satisfaction.  THEY WERE THE BEST!  I had a neighbor come over later that day, and they asked for the contact information because they saw how good everything looked.  I would definitely use them again.
