Perfectly professional. I have called Craig in the past when I had an issue and he didn't take advantage of me. He took the time to explain how my cesspool system works and what its doing or not doing right. Most other guys just want to connect a machine to your cesspool and take a few hundred dollars out of your pocket, even if they know it wont help you. I got a grimy feeling from other guys and turned them away before my neighbor recommended Perkulator. So my original block cesspool started to back up, Craig recommended that I replace it and I agreed. I opted to have the Suffolk county Code Septic system installed for $6,000. Since it was going to take me a few weeks to come up with the money, Craig serviced my cesspool with a hydrojet (I think), to get me out of trouble at no extra charge or up front payment. On they day of the install, the crew came and did the entire job in one day. They were able to replace the pipe under my stoop and close the cesspool partially located under my driveway without causing damage to the driveway or the stoop. No problems of any kind. Just an honest business. He gave me a price and delivered as expected.

Got the recommendation from a friend and called Craig on Super Bowl Sunday. Craig answered and ran me through some steps to do when I returned from a party that evening. He showed up the next day at 8:30 to find the cesspool and dig it up. Turns out I have block cesspools (which are now illegal, but legal in 1970). Craig and Corey ran the snake and unclogged the line, hydro-jetted the main pool and poured acid in the pool. Go to Perkulator website if you don't know what Hydro-jetting is. Craig ran a few scenarios...either getting new pools installed or keeping with the current ones with the advantages and disadvantages to both. I did my own research, including info from his site - which is spot on - and we opted to have a new pool installed. There really is no point in risking a block pool collapse since the system was nearly 50 years old. We actually opted to just have a new main pool installed without an overflow for the current time. Two rings and a dome. Turned out that after they dug up the pipe that tied back to the cast iron main line, we found the cause of the original problem - a settling pool caused the pipe to start to kink. And while the pool itself was not necessarily the problem - even though it was filled mighty high - we opted for being safe then sorry. Another thing to note, we had scheduled to have the new pool put in that same week, but got over a foot of snow, so we moved to the following week...about 12 days since original date of service...I used everything in the house as normal for that period. When they opened up the old pool to backfill it there was maybe 10-15 inches of water in it. They hydrojetting is legit. All the guys were professional and helpful with everything. I would hire them again, and recommend them, every time!

water was backing up into my basement from my washer not draining correctly this company was recommended by my plumber. when i called late on a Saturday afternoon i was surprised that the phone was answered by the owner and i was floored when he said he would come right over. talk about service! Craig and his assistant were amazing, they dug up the cover to the septic tank inspected my whole system and found the problem with the drainage. then he did another amazing thing he made suggestions on how to make the system work better and how to prevent it from occurring in the future. he spent time explaining everything very clearly and i will be following up with my plumber on the suggestions that were made and i will have this company back to service my septic tank (which desperately needs it) it the near future. i will recommend this company to anyone i know who may need them and was very very pleased with this company and the work they did for me today.

After having 2 terrible, and expensive, experiences in a 8 month time frame with RotoRooter with the same pools, costing over $3,000.00, not fixing the problem and getting the run-around for 3 days with them not showing up for appointments I decided to go on Angie's list and that's how I found Brent with Perkulator
He started his regular working day earlier in order to meet with me, at my only available time early in the morning
Brent and his worker were both very professional, we discussed the possible problems, agreed on pricing with whatever problematic situation he could run into while doing the job. He accommodated my tenant, who had planned a party for the weekend, by doing the job right away the next day and as he was doing the install he send pictures of everything that he was doing, including himself showing that he was doing the job and not somebody else.
I would certainly recommend Brent and his company at any time, it was a great experience doing business with him, very professional and reliable, totally refreshing (if that's even a word to use in his line of work) after having had such bad experience with RotoRooter..

We do not have a basement so when our cesspool is full it backs up into the downstairs bathroom.  It became obvious we needed to have the cesspool treated.  My husband saw an ad in our local PennySaver that Perkulator Cesspool Service ran and it said they were on Angie's List.  We decided to give them a call.  They arrived when they said they would and were quite understanding and helpful.  Since I had to show them where the cesspool was, I had to cross the snowy yard and lead them into the back yard.  One gentleman made sure that I did not fall while crossing the snow.  There were 2 things that needed to be done - we needed a larger access pipe and chemicals needed to be put down.  In all the years I had been in this house and had the cesspool serviced, no one ever mentioned needing a bigger access pipe.  So I got a bigger access pipe installed AND the chemicals applied AND the aeration for considerably less than with another cesspool service.  I was very pleased.

My only dislike about them is that we had another company come a month or so later, and they said that we got charged a lot more than we should've gotten charged.  They were quite helpful with being responsive.
Response from Perkulator Cesspool Service Corp
"un-fair we were not afford a return to find out the problem 1 month later - if the company came and told them they were over charge it is simply cut throat tactics and lies $425 represents a service of two cesspools most times and since aeration/chem blows away pumping/chem there must been another problem such as a main pipe clogg. If a customer HAS A PROBLEM 1 MONTH AFTER SPENDING $ 425 they should given us a chance to make good NOT CALL ANOTHER COMPANY WHO CERTAINLY WANTS THERE BUSSINESS . I would love to know what they did!!"

When I initially called to set up the appointment, Mr. Craig Perkins, the owner of the company, explained how his service differs from the traditional pumping of a cesspool.  His company uses sulfuric acid to disintegrate the standing water and waste.  This is to avoid a cesspool collapse.  He told me he could have his son and a helper out to my property on Saturday, July 9.  He told me his son had 12 years experience and it was a family owned business.  I agreed and on Saturday, July 9, as promised, his son and a helper were at my home.  Both were very courteous and they explained, and also drew a diagram, of the mechanics of a cesspool.  They exaimed the condition of the cesspool, and with a cesspool locator, had located two other cesspools on the grounds.  However, the main cesspool was the one they were interested in.  They took their time to do a thorough job.Basically, I was not having a problem but I did want to do maintenance since the cesspools were not cleaned in about 8 years.  I wanted to avoid a problem in the winter, when there would be inches of snow on the ground.  When the cover was pulled off, I could see the water level was about 3 inches from the top.  I agreed to have the mainteance performed and when they were finished, the water level was very low and the drain pipe could be seen.  I was told I would not need maintenance again for about 6-7 years years, unless a problem occurred with something else such as a tree root.I was so impressed I tipped them each $25.  It was a very pleasant experience, and I would certainly recommend this company and hire them again.  In fact, I had already told my sister when she needs cesspool service, I have the company for her!
Response from Perkulator Cesspool Service Corp
"Thank you for the review. Although ,if memory serves me correct, we serviced the overflow not the main cesspool. The overflow is the cesspool u look for to see if your full or near full and also it does 70 to 80 percent of drainage. The hydro jetting we do directly solves the problem of a full cesspool which is clogged sand. This clog slows down drainage to the point where it cannot drain water fast enough from whats being put in by household. We put the sulfuric acid in after to dissolve the organic waste we ejected out of sand. As for the bit about the cesspool collapsing it is heavy sulfuric acid doses to a block cesspool (depending on size) that could weaken structure. We only put in what is needed to dissolve the organic waste emphasizing more on the actual unclogging of sand with hydro jetting"

My cesspool was backing up (not draining) and decided to contact Perkulator to discuss options for its repair. After a discussion with the owner, he explained the risks of using a traditional pump truck to perform the service and Perkulator’s system. I decided to use Perkulator to perform the service. The company was prompt and arrived within the estimated timeframe. Total service time was under an hour. After completion of the service, the cesspool completely drained after a couple of hours.
Response from Perkulator Cesspool Service Corp
"since the perkulator method doubles to triple the time of standard pumping $300 is a deal . we try to explain that to our customers but I geuss they live in the moment. as for pumping it cost a cesspool company approx. $100 to dump 1000 gals most companies tell un-suspecting customers there pumping 2000 gallons for $300 due the math $100 profit b.s. my price might be average but you get longer !"

I THOUGHT PERKULATOR'S QUALITY OF WORK WAS GOOD. I WAS DISTURBED THAT THEY LEFT A BIG MESS FOR ME TO CLEAN UP. MY ENTIRE LAWN WAS DESTROYED! I LIKE THE COMPANY FOR GENERAL JOBS, BUT NOT MAJOR ONES.
Response from Perkulator Cesspool Service Corp
"this is a major install and since weve decide to implement grading and top soil where we can . its difficult when sprinkler lines etc are damaged we are not lic to repair we try to explain what rough grade means."
