I found this contractor from the neighborhood as he had done quite a few jobs in the surrounding area. Despite personal promises made by the owner, Rob Peters, he was hardly ever on the job site, hired mostly cheap ,unskilled, illegal day laborers and it showed in the quality , or lack thereof , of the work. After installing the entry door gable roofing and concrete front porch, my home was constantly inundated with water every time it rained ( from both areas). He tried to fix the problem with a tube of silicone! Sheetrock work was good, but the plumbing and electric behind it had all sorts of problems. Dimmer switches didn't work, new toilets were improperly installed causing them to seep out water from the floor every time it was flushed, shower stalls were incorrectly installed causing leaks and central a/c heating units didn't work. The acrylic exterior stucco cracked. I stopped paying him when he failed to correct the problems. He abandoned the job. Quite frankly, he was a nightmare to work with. I became the general contractor of sorts, hiring the professionals needed individually- based on their specialty. I was pleased with my final product. Unfortunately, I had to endure alot of added expense and aggravation to get there. Quality craftsmen cost money and quality builders hire skilled craftsmen. This guy doesn't want to spend what is necessary to get the job done right. My costs with him didn't include alot of things ( kitcken, windows, doors, bathroom fixtures, tiles) and despite a very generous profit margin, greed got the better of this so called "contractor". One final point, once I completed the home I noticed him taking pictures of my home and he included it in his portfolio of "Custom Luxury Homes".
Description of Work: Complete home renovation. The first floor was a gut renovation with a second floor added to the structure and new stucco exterior.
