We recently purchased a house and our realtor recommended Dave Olsen of Specialized Wood Floors. The house had old, wide reclaimed pine flooring that was in terrible shape and probably hadn't been refinished in the 25 years since it was first installed. The previous owner had dogs that had scratched the floors, and he had made holes in the floors throughout the house to bring up extension cords and phone and cable wires from the basement. (don't ask!) Dave gave us a very reasonable estimate, and then got to work. He did a super job. He spent a day knocking down all the nails, plugging all the holes, and nailing down any loose areas. Then over the rest of the week, he sanded and applied a sealer and three coats of satin oil-based poly. The floors look awesome! After he finished, we had a contractor remove some barn board panelling from two bedrooms and put up sheetrock instead, leaving a gap between the walls and the floor that a new baseboard would not cover. Dave returned and at no charge ripped some extra old pine boards that were in storage above the garage, finished them and then filled the gaps. He then left the house neat and clean with hardly any dust from all the sanding. I would highly recommend.
Description of Work: 1,100 square feet of old, pine flooring refinished.
