Pros: The services they perform are done well, I have never felt the quality lacked.
Cons:
- Price, they have a very high mark up. ie: the detailing services are good, but for half the price I have had just as good (better if you take into account the lack of high pressure sales tactics) from Delta Sonic.
-High Pressure Sales: The service pros are all encouraged to up sell and add services (they make commission). I have never entered there without getting a pitch for something or reason i should do something. And saying you can't afford it or will wait doesn't help, that just opens the door for them to tell you about financing.
All their customer service reps/salesmen are all trained in a way that makes them seem sleazy like a used car salesman. The up-selling doesn't help the image.
I have to take my truck in yearly to have the warranty services performed (without losing my warranty), and I dread it each time. I do not like having to fight off a salesman.
I have never left feeling like the company cares about the customers, just the bottom line. I usually am more concerned not to get ripped off. You can see this just in the way they lower prices when you refuse services, hence the inflated margins.
I would not recommend them to anyone unless they cannot get the service done elsewhere. I will never take a new car there again. Unfortunately my relationship with them will not end until I decide to sell my truck, otherwise all the effort I put into keeping the warranty valid on my truck will be for nothing.
On the down side:
Truck was promised at 4pm, and they missed pretty badly. Normally this is no problem for me, but on this particular day I really could have used the truck on time. Thing is, I *knew* there was no way they'd be done by 4pm, based on previous years (I've gone to them for five years or so, because of the rust warranty).
But my biggest beef is up-selling. Two phone calls while work was going on. First, they want to PPF the hood and fenders (this is that clear coating they put on to prevent chips to the paint). They have a and quot;new computerand quot; and can now do the whole hood all in one coating. Previously we had just the very front of the hood done, then half the hood a year or so later, and now the whole hood. I am steaming as I type this because I am a chump, but I guess I am safe now because there is no more hood to do. $500 for the hood and $300 for the hood re-paint warranty. I was not aware of the $300 until I got there to pickup the truck. I think they count on phone up-sales. They called later again (same day) to try and get me to do the door handles and something else for $200. They're like the finance guy at the end of a car sale.
The detailing - you have to watch them. Big spot on the front seat that came right off when it was pointed out to them. They didn't notice it until we were ready to drive off? But to their credit they did hit that spot, and work on a couple others when pointed out. Worth $300? I used to think so, but now I am not so sure.
Environmental impact surcharge - $30. What the heck?
So that is this trip to Ziebart. I gave them a lot of and quot;fairand quot; grades because they did an adequate job, but they don't impress me. They're big on and quot;this is normally $150 but you're getting it for $99and quot; which at first makes you think and quot;niceand quot;, but then you come to realize its part of their ballet. I feel a bit like I got owned again this year. I am going to look into alternatives.
