WHITNEY EAST INC

Our infill parcel was a landfill. In 1957, the State of New York began filling a 60 foot deep ravine with debris from the Eastern Expressway (I-490) construction. The now-level parcel was filled with concrete, asphalt, trees and organic material and abuts more ravine and woodland. Four months were required for engineering, town review and plan revisions. We had to install 48 helical pilings drilled into virgin soil topped with grade beams and hundreds of yards of concrete and stone.
Joe Condidorio, the owner of Whitney East, was super on this project. He's a detail guy and highly skilled at all forms of construction. He understands how difficult the process is for his clients and stays calm with a and quot;we can do thisand quot; approach. We've done many houses and are good at making decisions; but Joe's presence was critical to success. Everything was custom and Joe let us bring in our own material and several of our trusted craftspeople and then coordinated everything with not a bit of push-back. On top of that, his son Zack served as project supervisor and was a dynamo! Here early, worked non stop, handled every kind of challenge. Everything he touched came out great.
Since we had sold our townhouse, we needed to be in by a specific date and Joe made that date in just a little over four months. There was not a single day (except Sundays) when work was not being done and everyone on the project was top rate. Nice people, friendly, accommodating and outstanding craftspersons! The final punch list was just two or three small items and we came in on budget for the Whitney East part.

Excellent contractor. We used him for all three phases of building the Retreat Center, and the job that finished in 2011 was the third and final phase. Honest, professional, friendly, organized. Great sub-contractors.
