WESTFALL FLORISTS INC

We sent (or tried to send would be more accurate) flowers for a bereavement. They farmed the delivery out to another florist who did not leave the flowers as the person was not home. When I called the next day to check on why there were no flowers, they explained how the delivery process works and how they would have to check with the other florist. They called me back to let me know that as today is now the calling hours, the bereaved person was going to pick them up. When I asked to have the delivery charge refunded as the flowers were NOT delivered, I was advised "We attempted" and, therefore I should pay for a service not received. When I asked if they attempted again to deliver, would they recharge me the delivery fee, they advised no, there is only one delivery fee. When I stated again that they had NOT delivered the flowers, she explained that no one leaves flowers due to the weather (Sunny, not too warm days apparently are not good for flowers), no safe place (the quiet residental suburban neighborhood the delivery address was in is a hotbed of flower delivery related crimes apparently), and besides they tagged the door and called this morning so clearly I received all the service I should expect. I guess I have learned my lesson about trying to use a local business instead of a nationwide chain. While I will certainly send flowers again and will use a local florist, it will not be this one.
