The plants were good size and shape--and survived the summer heat and we even purchased hanging plants which stayed colorful throughout the summer and early fall.

We do often suggest and use Preen weed preventer over landscape fabric because weed seeds that land on top of fabric will still germinate and fabric can make planting new plants more difficult. Your photos look beautiful (that Japanese Maple was definitely worth incorporating into the new design). Thanks for leaving your feedback; we're very happy we could be part of the project!"

They are warm and friendly. They give you options to choose from. The landscaping is holding up well. The price was reasonable for what we had done. They were very responsive, punctual, and professional. I would use this service again.

Van Putte Gardens in my opinion, is one of the best garden stores in the Rochester area. I had a section of my lawn that I wanted to have sod installed and other areas that I wanted seeded. I called several other garden centers and landscapers...none of which wanted to be bothered with such a "minor" project. I called Van Putte Gardens and they couldn't be happier to come to my house to give me an estimate. They did the work and it came out beautifully. Todd was very responsive with any questions or concerns I had.Over the years I have purchased several trees, hanging baskets, perennials and annuals from them as well. All their nursery stock is extremely healthy and the staff is always happy to answer questions.They definitely rate a five star in my book! [Member's information removed]

Very prompt in providing diagrams and estimate. Worked with us to make a number of changes and once we settled on the design and price, scheduled work to begin within a couple of weeks. Job took 8 or 9 work days to complete, with 2 or 3 workers each day. The "boss" showed up every day to inspect the work and answer any questions/concerns we had. Very professional. We are extremely pleased with the work, and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Overall it went just great.
They arrived on time as indicated, and did an excellent job with the berm and plantings.
Plants & rocks placed in accordance with design created by them.

With the topsoil and seeding, it seemed to go well until I noticed some "larger pebbles" than what should be in screened top soil.
It was applied near the end of the installation, and I raised a concern with the foreman. The agent came out and we discussed the issue, he stated that it appeared that the stones in question were indeed too large for what we ordered. 1 - 2 days went by with no resolution. I called him out again, and this time he said there wasn't a problem.
It is my contention that when the truck loaded the topsoil, it had not been emptied/swept clean of previous material that had been in the truck.

The work went fine. They planted new shrubs. The lawn looks good. Their price was a little higher, but we had another estimate that was higher. I would use their service in the future if needed.

They were not in any way upset that we did not buy all of our plants from them. They were very efficient and showed up right on time. It was a beautiful design and everything looks great. We felt the price was honest and reasonable for the service they provided. They are a three generation family-owned and operated business.
