Fantastic Job. Friendly staff first provided me with a moving kit of boxes. Mostly, they were able to provide used boxes, and only charged for the new stuff. Crew of 3, as arranged beforehand, showed up right on time, calling before they left the warehouse. Nothing but professionals. Would hire again, and recommend strongly.

They got lost finding the pick up address (even though I tried to give their administrative assistant directions the day before the move- they took 15 minutes off of the time billed for.- cool). I was quoted $105.00/hr., charged $110.00. I didn't object until, after the move I was told there was a 3 hour minimum, which was never quoted to me- they honored th 1.25 hours it took, though. Lastly, I gave them my debit card to pay, which the movers called in. The administrative assistant must not have run the card through because it never showed up on my account statement. I called them over one month later and had them send me a billing statement which I paid through my pooled trust

We presented a difficult move. It involved a piano and a large arcade game. We also had more boxes and furniture than I think we realized. In hindsight, I would have had someone come out to look at our house and provide a proper estimate. We had three movers and should have had four, as well as a bigger truck. Having said that, the team they sent exceeded my expectations. They worked hard and took great care with our possessions as well as both homes. They were very accommodating and worked well together. They weren't just guys moving boxes - they treated their job as customer service. Hard to say how much I appreciated having this difficult move go so well.

For the most part they did a great job. The truck arrived about 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time and everything was loaded in good time. Everything arrived undamaged and was off loaded quickly. Other than forgetting a few things and not putting some heavy tools where they were supposed to go it went well. The price was about $240 more than the estimate, which I was unhappy with.

Overall the move went well and the guys were nice and courteous. I write this because of my experience of making claims for damaged items in hopes that other members do not have to go through this. Get clear up front before the move starts, what to do when you find damaged items, get it in writing and have them sign it. There were some items damaged when they were packed by the moving company and some that were damaged while being moved into the new house. They have denied my claim (approx. $1000) even though I paid $556 for insurance for full replacement coverage. Their reason for denying the claim was that I took too long to file the claim (they state you have 9 months to file a claim, I filed it at 8.5 months just to make sure I didn't find any other times that were damaged). They also said that the damaged items weren't noted on the inventory list when it came off the truck - there is a one sentence statement that this is how you are to note damaged items, which is on a form you sign that has to do with making claims for high valued items like art, furs, antiques. However, some of the damaged items were in boxes and not discovered until they were unpacked, so how can you note it on the inventory list? One of the items was dropped down the steps by the mover. I asked the move manager how to handle such damaged items he said I needed to get in touch with the owner of the company. I sent the photos (within 6 weeks of the move) * *to him to forward onto the owner, and in return they sent me a claim form. The items that were damaged were not high dollar expensive things, I'm just more upset that they are flat out denying they did any of it because I can't prove it was in their 'custody' when it was damaged - they dropped a shelving unit right in front of me for pity's sake, but because I didn't note it as damaged on their inventory list, it's like it never happened.

My husband and I had a terrible experience with Sheridan Brothers Moving. We hired them to move our 1 bedroom apartment into a 3 bedroom house (1.5 miles away). We have a lot books and records, which I told the company when I got the estimate (she even wrote "A lot of records" on the estimate). We have very little furniture. Everything was boxed, labeled and stacked in the center of the apartment when the movers arrived. They sent two movers and a very large truck (26 ft. I think?). One of the guys was very nice, the other one was rude, aggressive and threatening. He clearly did NOT want to finish the job - and he kept telling us there was no way they were going to get it all done. After 1 hour he told us it was going to cost us "more than $1,000" and that we needed a third guy. He was angry and aggressively complaining about how much stuff we had. I began to feel that I couldn't trust this guy to handle our belongings, and I felt personally threatened by his aggressive behavior. He also told my husband that I had not been honest in the estimate. I started crying and called the company and begged them to send a manager to assess the situation. My husband asked me not to talk to the movers anymore because he was afraid they were going to purposefully damage our property (by 1:30 more than half of our belongings were on the truck). They sent a manager who told me that "elevator jobs take longer" (our elevator is large enough to hold a full size sofa and Queen size mattress, and we provided a key to hold the door). There were no stairs for them movers to climb to get out of the apartment, and only 2 steps into the house. The manager left after about half an hour. The movers did a HORRIBLE job packing the truck, and left several items still in the apartment without filling the truck (including a rolled-up rug, and a broken down metal shelf which could EASILY have fit in the truck). They emptied the contents of the truck in our house and were "done" by 5 pm on the dot. So today I have to take a day off of work and rent a U Haul to finish the job that I paid Sheridan Movers $600 to complete. This was by far the worst moving experience I have ever had. I have contacted Sheridan Movers to discuss this situation, and was yelled at by the owner. I am actually afraid to post this message, because I still feel threatened by the angry mover who now knows where I live and what I own. But I hope that this message will help prevent anyone else from the traumatic experience I had with Sheridan Brothers Moving.

I couldn't have been more pleased. After a horrible experience with professional movers (NOT Sheridan Bros.) 20 years ago, I was careful to do in-depth research this time. Sheridan had very good reviews and had come highly recommended by a former coworker who hired the company a year or so ago. Their rep came through to give us an estimate about a month ahead of our move, and was respectful and professional. His estimate was, as it turned out, almost exactly what we ended up paying. On the day of our move, our two movers arrived just about on time and went directly to work, not wasting a minute. They were careful, pleasant and courteous. It was the same story at the other end as they unloaded everything, making sure to ask where everything went before coming inside. I recommend Sheridan Brothers without hesitation and would engage them again, should the need arise.

The crew arrived a few minutes early so they could start working at the agreed upon time.  They were fast, cordial and incredibly careful with our piano and other furniture.  When moving the piano into it's new location, the lead mover found a creative way to bring the piano in, with the littlest possible difficulty, and gave us recommendations on how best to place the piano in its new home. The crew were fast, professional and really pleasant.  The work was completed within the time estimated.  The final bill was just what we expected, no hidden fees, no surprises. Overall, we would definitely recommend Sheridan Bros. Moving - the move was impeccable.

Upon initial contact, I was called back promptly and services / fees explained in detail. I obtained a few other quotes but Sheridan's seemed the most reasonable and professional. I called back and scheduled the move.
The movers arrived on-time with a clean truck. They were professional and driven. They moved quickly but not too quick - not once did I hear them bang any of our boxes or furniture. The truck was packed professionally; all items were wrapped and boxes stacked appropriately.
The movers only stopped briefly at my request to take a quick break. They worked efficiently on packing AND unpacking the truck. They were friendly and courteous. I have already recommended them to family and friends!

Three very professional and efficient young men showed up to move our items. They were careful with the furniture as well as the walls in both homes. They made sure everything was where we wanted it before they left. I would definitely recommend them!
