For small amounts of snow--fine.
For major snowfall--not acceptable.  We went 24 hours during peak of snow storm without being plowed out.  Received a rude phone message complaining that people were calling in about non-service.  Philosophy seemed to be to wait until storm was done (regardless of amount) so only had to plow once.

Excellent service and punctuality. More importantly, the provider has shown willingness and flexibility to accommodate to our individual needs and is always responsive when contacted. Would highly recommend!

Like every year for the past 6 years I have had Rochester Lawn Care come and prune my bushes. Their prices have always seemed fair to me and they have always been courteous to me on the phone and in e-mails. I also use them for my fall yard cleanup and snow plow removal. As always they trimmed my bushes in to a more natural shape and removed all the resulting branch debris etc. nicely and remembered to keep my fence gate shut so my dog does not escape.
However, I do have one complaint. The bushes along the backside and front side of my fence grow very tall and I asked as I do every year to have them prune them down as short as possible and again this year as every year it seems like all they really do is shape them and so the bushes get taller which is becoming a problem. This year there are several large branches (is that what you call them on bushes?) which protrude straight up in the air which go up near the power lines and I am not sure why they did not cut those down at least because it doesn't match the nicely contoured shape of the rest of the bush. Maybe I need to complain to them louder but it seems to me a professional company would know that branches growing in to power lines should be cut without having to point that out. It just seems to me that every year they get a tiny bit worse as the first few years they did work for me I was much more pleased.
I will say I am likely to keep using them as I have had worse problems with previous providers and I have not seen any others here on Angie's list that seem better based on their reviews so I guess I will just have to push harder on them to get what I want. I am satisfied with their snow plow removal and fall cleanup and it's nice to have all these services with one company which is another reason I like them overall.
Bottom line, good company and decent service overall.

Generally ok. Seems like we were always last on the block to get plowed. I did have to call them a couple times when we weren't plowed sometimes 24 hours after a snowfall, but they were usually responsive when I did this and were here within an hour. I shouldn't have to call though! We've been with them for 12 years, but will be getting competitive quotes for the next snow season.

Rochester Lawn Care seemed to do an acceptable job of applying fertilizer and weed control. I'd come home from work and a receipt and flags would indicate that they were there. However, I never recall receiving a fall application. This past month, I called to ask if their records indicated that I received a fall application, I was told by a courteous, but new receptionist that she did not know how to find that information. She said that a person that would be able to do it was not in the office and would call me back tomorrow. I never received a call. With this lack of response and my suspicion that I never received a fall application, I decided to look elsewhere for my lawn care.

On 8/30/13, a worker applied highly concentrated fertilizer and weed control to our lawn during hot weather that killed much of it. We paid to have our lawn look better. Instead, we have large dead brown patches of grass. On previous visit, worker dug up our lawn, which is on a hill, by driving a small tractor over it, turning the wheels sharply and gouging soil and grass, making it look unsightly and leaving bare, exposed grass and roots. Despite asking not to have that tractor used again, on Aug 30th, the same vehicle dug up the lawn, gouged the turf as it poured inappropriate concentrations of weedkiller and fertilizer onto the lawn.
No advanced notice was given before the August 30th service, despite their promise to inform us ahead of time. Both my dogs ran out onto lawn covered with the weed killer before I noticed the yellow signs. No advanced phone call to warn us to keep children and pets off it could mean health issues with our animals down the road. As a healthcare provider in this community, I am alarmed at what appears to be negligent lack of concern for the welfare of children and animals who might come in contact with chemicals before owners are aware they have been placed.
A manager, Jay, came to house, was polite and apologetic and had 30 pounds of grass seed applied to lawn, but now I am supposed to water the lawn thoroughly myself, while I am working a very busy job assignment and do not have the time to spend watering my lawn. I do not own large sprinkler systems. I have a smaller one and looks like I'll need to set it up and keep moving it.
I would not hire them again., I would not recommend them to anyone else. I am ashamed of how my sad my lawn looks and am sorry I ever hired them. My only hope is that the toxic concentrations will be dispersed or broken down by next year so the grass grows.
Having to pay for toxins to be poured onto my lawn adds insult to injury.

In our opinion, the job went very welll - the estimate was done quickly and less than another quote. Staff and two people on estimate were very friendly. The work was scheduled quickly and we believe, done very well. They were able to "chop-up" and remove the medium sized tree and all the debris, very well done. This company has also provided helpful fall leaf/clean-ups for two prior years, and again, priced and done well.

I have used them for three years. THeir prices are reasonable. THey let you know when they are coming, they are neat, and the yfollow up with you if there are any issues. THey do spot treatments if there are any areas that require special attention. There is no pressure, but they do leave information about the lawn if anythign comes up. They seem competent and I just signed another contract for the upcoming year. I would recommend them.

As described above, this was disappointing. But a little more background might be helpful. I moved to the Rochester area this spring snow was still on the ground. Three weeks later I contracted with two lawn companies, one to mow and the other to apply lawn chemicals, based on the recommendaation of the previous owner. The previous owners also contracted the lawn chemical company to treat the shrubs and trees on an 'as needed' basis, but I wanted to spread my jobs around to find out who provides the best performance at the best price.

When the owner of Rochester Lawn Care canvassed my neighborhood, I talked with him. I mentiioned my other committments, but told him I could give him a chance for the dormant oil treatment and the shrub care. I said that if his work was good, I would probably give him more business in 2012. He assured me I would like his work. I promptly received a contract which I signed and returned.

You can read the results above.

I can't imagine how these people stay in business if my situation was typical. They seem to be quit popular and advertise broadly. I was particularly unhappy that the owner never called to tell me what happened.

It did not go so well using their services. They are currently only mowing one property until the end of the season. We started out the year with them to do snow plowing. They needed to have to the parking lot done by 7:30 in the morning and there were times when they did not come. When I called the owner he told me that he had already been here but we did not see him on the camera and when he did come out he stated that he thought he had already been here but we had eight inches of snow that was not been plowed. We had planted flowers that cost a large amount of money and when they sent someone over to weed they ended up pulling out the flowers. We have them finishing out the summer by just mowing one property but at the end of the summer we will no longer be using them. We paid them monthly.

Although Scott Cialini is professional and courteous, we have been disappointed with the service provided by his employees. We have an L-shaped driveway and they routinely do not plow in front of our garage doors. We end up having to shovel in front of our garage. They also seem to take a very long time to show up. For example, it stopped snowing last night at 8 p.m. and they didn't plow until 7:30 a.m. today. When I called to ask them to come, an employee was rude and argumentative toward me.

We've used Scott Cialini/ Rochester Lawn for our snow plowing service for four years. We aren't always the first to be plowed, but they try to rotate this so it is done on an equal basis to all. Only one year have they had to repair our lawn in the Spring. No real complaints; I just wouldn't say "excellent."
