It seemed promising initially, as Andrew was very attentive and responsive prior to the down payment. I should have listened to my gut and noticed the red flags when he couldn't meet me on Day 1 because of a broken-down truck and cell phone that wasn't working. Unfortunately, I continued on with our agreement and paid him $5000 up front to cover the materials, dumpster and payroll. I was told that work would start on 5/24, then 5/25, then 5/26. The guys worked for about 3 hours on 5/26 and then came back for a full day on 5/31 and 6/1. No one has worked on my house since 6/1 and I've heard excuse after excuse - with the promise that they will always be back "tomorrow" (when tomorrow comes I receive another text message with another excuse for the following day). The most recent excuse is that the materials cost more than expected (funny, because he told me on 5/25 that the siding was at his "warehouse") and he has to finish another job in order to pay for the materials for my job. Our house has been sitting, exposed to the elements for 4 weeks now and we're left with no materials and a contractor that won't show. We're now forced to go purchase our own materials (again - except this time it will be delivered to us) and hire someone else to complete the mess that Andrew left us with. Something that should have been exciting has been nothing short of stressful, frustrating and financially draining.
