"We are very sorry you were unhappy with our service. I appreciate you taking the time to explain your perspective to me when I called you to discuss your review. We take all customer feedback very seriously. It's important to us that we thoroughly understand your experience, and you have the chance to hear our viewpoint, directly from the owners. We set up an appointment to come have a look at the fireplace so we could get a material list. You had said that you felt the first trip was unnecessary because it was a standard parts list, but while the conversion we were doing was not uncommon, each fireplace tends to require different parts to complete successfully. After getting the list together, on a trip which we didn't charge you for, we ordered the parts. We were heading into the busiest time of year, so rather than wait until the parts arrived to schedule your appointment, which could have significantly delayed the date we could get back to you, we scheduled it in anticipation of their arrival. We were comfortable with this because we've worked with our supplier for 20 years and they have provided exceptional service to us. The afternoon of the second appointment we went to pick up the parts and discovered our supplier forgot to order them. Our supplier talked to you and told you it was his fault, not ours that the parts were not ordered. I appreciated that he took responsibility and answered for his mistake honestly. They have been incredibly reliable over our long tenure of working with them, so I'm genuinely sorry that your job resulted in a mistake on their part. You had also mentioned that you were upset because you took a half a day off and we could not complete the work. You felt as though we should have called to make sure the parts were in. We have never had them forget to order parts before, so we didn't feel it was necessary to call ahead. In the future, we will now call and check because of this situation. We understand that stepping away from our busy lives can be very difficult, so we never ask our customer to stay home and wait for us. We always call our customers when we are on our way to make sure that our customers miss the absolute minimum amount of time from the regular lives to take care of their home. We work with people in a broad variety of professional situations, and cover a pretty wide geography, so we have developed the ability to accommodate virtually every situation over the years. I'm sorry that you feel that we didn't meet your needs satisfactorily, but we feel that we've done everything in our power to provide you the best service possible given how circumstances unfolded."
