Mark had issues getting started on the scheduled day/time. Together we had laid out a plan on the work to be done and the order that it is to be done. An email was sent to him to confirm this and for him to use as there was a lot of work to be done. The order of work was done because of the many plants to be moved as well as Iris's to be dug up, split, and moved. He started with the overgrowth behind the stone wall and that went well. When he started to work throughout the yard he did not have control of anything. His men rototilled up perennial plants that were supposed to be moved, chopped up the roots of ornamental trees as well as mulching area's without putting down weed paper (installing the paper was part of the job). Instead of weeding his men used a tiller and just chopped up the tops of the weeds, leaving the roots to grow in a day or two. I inspected the work after the second day of him and his crew being here (first day for his men at my home). I explained he was doing work in area's that were supposed to be at the end of the job, chopping up plants and roots, and not going according to the plan. Mark had not even looked at the email we sent and was relying on memory to do the job. I immediately canceled the job with him and we agreed on a price for the work he and his crew had already done inspite of him ruining plants and possibly trees.
