"Complainant currently under contract with ADT until 12/2011 at approx $35/mo and wanted to reduce his monthly monitoring costs. I offered the customer a $19.95/mo monitoring fee which was amicable. The complainant signed a contract in 2008, which he did produce, that states his current provider (ADT) owns the equipment (see fine print, Gabe). He would have to purchase a new control unit ($195) and two (2) new keypads ($100) and have our company install said ($400) equipment. I offered complainant a payment plan or out of pocket investment; neither of which was appealing. I felt there was no further room for a negotiable price as $695 was a fair. Complainant explained that he will look at other options and showed me the way out."
