"Hi [Member Name Removed], I apologize. I have been away from Angie's List for quite some time and did not get your message. My personal cell phone is on my website if you need to get ahold of me."
"Hello Mr. [Member Name Removed], I am sorry you are displeased with our service...or lack there of. I have NO record of you ever trying to contact me personally, and cannot understand your evaluation. Please feel free to call me to elaborate!"
All of the gardens were cleaned and all of last years dead foliage was cut back and removed. Then new mulch was spread on all of the gardens. All gardens in the front were edged and the pathways in the rear, which were overgrown, were trimmed back. During this they were pumping out the pond, and when the water level was low enough they commenced cleaning the bottom.
Everything I asked to be done was done, and done in a very professional manner. They used about 8 cubic yards of brown mulch and 12 bags of cedar mulch which was included in the price. I feel like I have received exceptional value for my money.
I would highly recommend this outfit and especially Mike Swartz to anyone needing any kind of yard-work done.
"[Member Name Removed] I know you well. If I got your message, I would have definitely called you! Please let me know what sort of a message you left - voicemail, email, web request. There's no reason I wouldn't have been right over! Please call me directly 370-2385 (cell)."
I immediately fired provider. They acknowledged damaged caused by them but made no offer or attempt at restitution.
"We immediately met with [Member name removed]. Minor damage was addressed, and customer conceded that initial damages were done by prior contractor. We offered to make repairs, and COMPENSATION WAS GIVEN by not being charged for the service. We are sorry [Member name removed] was dissatisfied, and wish him luck with his next contractor."
When the call came, it was Monday morning, about 8:30 am or so. They arrived a few minutes later and went right to work after I reiterated my initial request, and specified (roughly) the limits for the borders. At the end of the day (late afternoon) they had completed all the earth moving, etc., and advised they would finish up tomorrow. As this is Rochester, it rained heavily during the night -- nevertheless, by mid-afternoon they returned (most of the rain had drained away or sunk into the lawn by then) and completed the job.
While they were working, I came up with a few more "minor jobs" (as long as you're here) involving landscape edging, ground preparation, etc. They took care of every late request, cleaned up the yard and driveway, accepted my check, and reminded me they'd be back next year to check on the grass and would make adjustments, etc, if necessary.
In my personal opinion, you cannot find a better company to do your landscaping projects. Friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and definitely professional.
When we got a small amount of snow in November, I realized that I hadn't heard from them about doing the work. I called on November 17. They apologized profusely. The woman said she would check with the owner and get back to me. She called the next week and said they would definitely do it the following week.
I still didn't hear from them by Wednesday, November 26 -- the day before Thanksgiving. So I called and told them to forget it.
Now the job isn't done and it's winter. The stoop will deteriorate more so it will cost me more next summer to have it repaired. AND I'm going to have to go through the whole process of contacting contractors, getting estimates, etc. I am really, really angry about this.
"We are sorry; however we cannot control the weather in Rochester. The potential client did NOT want services done when the weather turned inclimate in late November, although it would have been possible for us to complete this small job. We apologize for any incovenience or miscommunication."
