Jeff and his crew did a beautiful job on our patio. The work was done quickly and with attention to detail, and we were amazed that the whole thing only took four days from estimate to completion. There wasn't room to get any heavy equipment into the back yard, so they hand carried all the stone and sand in, and all the debris out. Jeff rerouted a downspout to avoid a drainage issue and put landscape lighting wires in conduits to protect them. This type of work is not inexpensive to have done, but we found Jeff's estimate to be very reasonable and feel like we certainly got what we paid for. He and his crew couldn't have been any nicer. We highly recommend Irondequoit Landscape, and will certainly call them again when we need work done in the future.

I called Mike as they had done the job last year and he gave me a price over the phone. This yearI needed all new mulch. That was going to be 16 cubic yards. They called me a couple of days before coming and made sure I was OK with the timing. The crew showed up when they said they would, went right to work and did an excellent job. They finished all the clean up the first afternoon and started laying mulch. As they ran out of time they came back the following morning to finish laying the mulch. They also had to bring more mulch as their trucks could not hold the whole 16 yards in a single trip. When they were done they yards looked exactly as I wanted them and the price was as quoted.

I contacted Mike Swartz and had him come out and do an estimate. This he did and gave me a written estimate. After comparing his estimate with others, I called Mike and set the date for the work to be done. He was to remove all the dead branches from the yard both front and back, remove all the dead leaves from all the gardens, Mulch the gardens out front and mulch the pathways in the natural areas in the back yard. My backyard is a certified natural wildlife habitat, so working there is very difficult. Not only were the paths mulched but the gardens directly against the back of the house were mulched with a different color mulch so to distinguish them from the pathways. They were also to pump out my pond, about 4500 gallons, and then remove all of the accumulated material on the bottom of the pond. Mike showed up on Saturday morning as scheduled along with Jeff the owner and another fellow named Mike. They went to work very quickly, but were careful not to trample on early buds coming out of the ground.
All of the gardens were cleaned and all of last years dead foliage was cut back and removed. Then new mulch was spread on all of the gardens. All gardens in the front were edged and the pathways in the rear, which were overgrown, were trimmed back. During this they were pumping out the pond, and when the water level was low enough they commenced cleaning the bottom.
Everything I asked to be done was done, and done in a very professional manner. They used about 8 cubic yards of brown mulch and 12 bags of cedar mulch which was included in the price. I feel like I have received exceptional value for my money.
I would highly recommend this outfit and especially Mike Swartz to anyone needing any kind of yard-work done.

Provider was repeatedly damaging siding of my house and fixtures in my yard with high powered string trimmer.  I contacted provider back in late August rot report problem and asked them not to trim anymore.  They were good for a while but then showed up Oct 23 and used trimmer. Stripped paint off lightest, took chunks of wood out of mailbox post and shed ramp, and damaged garage siding.
I immediately fired provider. They acknowledged damaged caused by them but made no offer or attempt at restitution.
Response from Irondequoit Lawn & Landscape
"We immediately met with [Member name removed]. Minor damage was addressed, and customer conceded that initial damages were done by prior contractor. We offered to make repairs, and COMPENSATION WAS GIVEN by not being charged for the service. We are sorry [Member name removed] was dissatisfied, and wish him luck with his next contractor."

On first contact we were given an estimate based on what we had thought would be appropriate.  My request for timing was simple. "When you can squeeze it in, before the snow starts".  Approximately 2-3 weeks later we received a call "How about next week, Monday?"  My only request was that they telephone about 15-20 minutes before arrival on site.
When the call came, it was Monday morning, about 8:30 am or so.  They arrived a few minutes later and went right to work after I reiterated my initial request, and specified (roughly) the limits for the borders.  At the end of the day (late afternoon) they had completed all the earth moving, etc., and advised they would finish up tomorrow.  As this is Rochester, it rained heavily during the night -- nevertheless, by mid-afternoon they returned (most of the rain had drained away or sunk into the lawn by then) and completed the job.
While they were working, I came up with a few more "minor jobs" (as long as you're here) involving landscape edging, ground preparation, etc.  They took care of every late request, cleaned up the yard and driveway, accepted my check, and reminded me they'd be back next year to check on the grass and would make adjustments, etc, if necessary.
In my personal opinion, you cannot find a better company to do your landscaping projects.  Friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and definitely professional.

Highly recommend Jeff and his crew.  The old wood deck was big and difficult, but it was out and gone in a day,  the raised flagstone patio done in 3 days...looks fantastic and like it has always been there.  There was no getting a back hoe in my small yard and everything was hauled via wheelbarrow.  He put in a charming stone path on the side of my house, and repaired a 4' area of  my brick walk that had settled from work done a few years ago.  Looks terrific and I'm so pleased.  Any disturbed areas of my lawn were graded and seeded.  A great experience from start to finish!

I was very impressed with the job. It was exactly what I wanted. The grading of the new topsoil looks natural and I think it enhances the look of the house. The job was done at the price quoted in the time period agreed upon.

It went very very well. They were here until well into the evening the first day and up until the 6:30 the second day. They cleaned up well and hauled excess dirt away. I was very satisfied with their work. They were very attentive to detail. The were nice people to work with as well.

The outcome of this project to reclaim part of the back yard was outstanding. That was not surprising as all contacts from beginning to end were punctual, complete and professional. I appreciated their input as to what would work best for the project and the work was done quickly and efficiently (in and out in just a matter of hours). In comparing to other quotes, their price was more than reasonable. I would not hesitate to have Irondequoit Lawn and Landscape do any work for me in the future.

I specifically stated that I wanted an area completely filled in with pachysandra. I repeated my request very clearly. Instead, I ended up with a planting that may fill in within five years. Jeff knows that I'm unhappy with the results. We've had other projects done by them which turned out perfectly so I don't want to completely downgrade them. I just wish they had listened to my request more carefully.

Job was done quickly, workers were very responsive to what I wanted and made changes mid job to accomodate my input. The grass grew in great, a few bald patches but I think that is to be expected. The stepping stone walkway looks great! One stone "rocks" when you step on it but I hope it will settle with time. The materials were all very reasonably priced, especially the top soil and stones. They removed some bushes to made room for the lawn. They asked me if I wanted to keep any and helped me move the ones I wanted. The head worker (a brit) was very friendly and gave me lots of useful advice on caring for my lilac etc. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again. Just call early in the season because they get busy fast!

They removed the sod around the house where we were adding soil and eventually covering with landscape stone 1-2.5" in dia.
They around the areas we wanted to raised to improve drainage covered with black fabric and laid the edging block around the
the side and back pf the house. They removed the brick edging in front of the house and laid the new block edging around the front
matching the original shape .
They installed drain pipe with popups for all gutter down spouts to move the rain water away from the foundation.
They hauled several ton of rock to cover all new and old landscaped areas, this was a bit more expensive but we do not have to replace the cover every year or two also blowing leaves out of the landscaped is possible without losing the ground cover.
They planted several knockout rose bushes and other slow growing plants that require low maintenance around the side and back of the house. See photos.
We were able to clear a circle around our large maple tree, and lay the same edging around it allowing the planting to spread all around the tree.
They did a great job, cleaned up well and took away all the brick, old plantings.
