Flower City Painting

Chris Mariani , Flower City Painting was very unprofessional and unreliable once he accepted the job for exterior wood trim repair, deck repair and deck painting. He showed up 3 times for very short spurts in 5 weeks and accomplished roughly 5% of the work contracted for. He had multiple excuses why he wasn’t showing up, most of which were that he did not prioritize us, after promising he would complete the work in 1 week’s time. He did have a cold and health issue, and there were some wet days, but those circumstances aside, there were many other days he promised to come and ended up choosing other jobs to do . He totally neglected us, blew us off, wasted so many good weather working days by just not showing up. When he did come, after my relentlessly telling him he needed to get here and get the job done, he had 2 different sub contractors. He claimed when we hired him, that he had a precision woodworker with whom he regularly worked, who would do an excellent job with some intricate wood repair areas on the house. Not the case. He also got paint on the bricks off the deck because he failed to use any protective drop cloths and did not clean it up, failed to finish painting the deck as well. When woodworking, he left a wood demolition mess including broken boards and saw dust all over for us to clean. Chris never produced receipts for wood materials after being asked multiple times to do so. The one carpentry job he did semi complete he used sub standard materials, did not finish and it has to be redone. We are now working with a reliable contractor who must rip out what was done and start over with quality materials and correct process, both of which not used by Chris and carpenter. Paying again for same job. Valuable time, mental energy and financial resources wasted on this guy.l Lesson learned. Check Angie’s list and other places for customer reviews prior to hiring. When someone behaves as unprofessionally as this, they do not deserve anyone’s business.
