FIRLIT LANDSCAPE DESIGN

I had called Firlit Landscaping towards the end of winter with plan of starting my renovation process in early spring. Had a quick and timely response within a couple days with plans to meet later in the week to discuss our options. Steve listened to our thoughts and idea's and put together a couple of abstract plans incorporating our needs with an artistic twist along with what he felt would work well given our layout and available space. The initial blueprint was a bit over our price range however we were reassured that it could easily be scaled down to save money. Steve took care of nearly every step of the entire process with the exception of ripping up the old patio which we opted to do ourselves to save money. The entire project was completed within a matter of a few weeks. The team worked diligently throughout the day, morning to night and steve was always present during critical points and available whenever need be by phone; email or text. Answered every question we had throughout the entire process and was more than patient as this was our first time as new home owners. I recommended him to several friends and colleagues and would certainly use him in the future if the opportunity should arise!

Well Firlit started when the weather was ok, I did want it done before a big family party in December. And yes it was, but we did run into snow, then it got warm and then more snow and cold, but it was finished. I had large boulders put in the front area which of course required a bulldozer and had dirt lots of dirt and mulch which also required trucks. But Firlit will be back when the weather is better to finish up re-seeding lawn and raking all the leaves that fell way into the winter.

It was funny that I was hear for all of it and I loved how it came together. Steve did find some problems with concrete bricks which were under my steps in the front entry way which had been there since the house was built. So he re-did those and of course had to wait for warm weather. That was finished and the work proceeded. Even when the snow fell and all the lights were on in the front it looks so beautiful.

I know I am going on and on, but Steve really knows his stuff and the people who work for him are hard workers and very nice.

Steve and his men came in with 9 boxwoods, large ones, and 3 yards of mulch. They edged my side and yes the neighbor's side and planted the nine boxwoods and put in the mulch. The work was done in about a half day and it looks beautiful. I have in ground sprinklers and Steve's people were very careful not to damage any of it. In fact where the boxwoods are, I can just push a button and all 9 boxwoods get enough water to get growing. As I always tell Steve I do not like small plants and he always listens and I get just what I want.















My neighbors and myself are very happy and the outcome and yes they also have used Firlit Landscaping















Steve will be coming back in a few weeks to do more work in my yard, but that's another story.

It went perfectly. He had someone come in and do a concrete sidewalk for us that we get a lot of compliments on. Steve designed something like you would see with bricks but had filled with concrete. We did NOT want a brick walkway as we had seen too many that made it difficult to use the snow blower on (done by other landscapers). We are not gardeners so wanted something that would come back year after year with minimal upkeep. We now have flowers from the spring to the fall and all we have to do is mulch, deadhead the flowers, and cut things down in the fall. You can tell a big difference between our yard and others whose were done by other landscapers. Much more innovation in the design and ease of upkeep. The compliments we get are not just from friends and neighbors but also from people walking by the house.

The overall job went fantastic, except we had rain, wind, snow and you name it, but Steve's people were here when they could be weather permitting. I had over 16 yards of mulch put down in all of my gardens front and back, everything cleaned up, the slate all one color now and the new areas that Steve and crew gave me. Yes I will do plantings. FYI, Steve's wife is an artist and has done some remarkable things for my yard also. So please check out his website and give him a call. He is busy but does get back to you. I have used Firlit for many years and my home is so beautiful.... My gardens you can just sit out on a lounge and read a book and drink tea in the afternoon. Try Firlit you will be greatly satisfied.

Overall i would and do use them over and over again. They are the complete landscaping business....

The only problem i have is getting Steve to get back to me. Last year we called him in the spring to do some other work and he was going to get back to me with some ideas but he never did. i also told him i wanted him to do a walkway out at my son's house but
he didn't get back to me on that. So i had to bring in another landscaper and he did a terrible job which now i am trying to get Firlit out to fix. I spoke to Steve Firlit last fall about fixing the previous contractors work but i was too late in the year so i just contacted him to get set for first thing this spring. I also told Steve that i had more work i needed him to look at, he told me that he would stop by to look at it
and i told him i would be home all day Monday if he could stop by but i never heard back from him.
Steve and his crew do a great job which is why i keep coming back to him but he is not good on returning calls.
