It did not go well. Instead of removing a small spot of wall to check for water damage within the wall, the entire wall was removed at once. It turned out that there was no evidence of residual water damage anywhere in the wall (mold, soggy insulation etc.). This was in spite of an insurance adjustors estimate that there was water damage. In other words, the entire repair was unnecessary. Our hardwoods were not covered during the process and it took much effort to restore them. In addition the wainscoting that also needed to be removed was replaced in a sloppy fashion and had to be calked by us. The wall looks good and the paint job was done well. Again however it did not have to be done at all and the precautions taken to carry out the job in a careful manner were not up to par.
