Rich was initially very impressive and helpful in helping us design our deck. Came out to the house 4 or 5 times, and seemed great! Finally got around to starting our deck, and what would have been a 10 day job turned into several weeks of him and his ever-changing crew showing up one day, then not for weeks at a time. Eventually, he came to me and (seemingly apologetic....) asked me for the 4th and final payment that I owed him, before the deck was done. Said he was having a bad season, and some cash flow problems, and didn't have the money to buy the railings for my deck. Well, I stupidly wrote him the final check. He did show up the next day and installed about half the railings. Then we never saw him again. He eventually returned one of my phone calls, and said he just didn't have the money to buy the rest of the supplies needed to finish my deck, and that he was frustrated and was just going to get out of the deck business altogether. So, he left me with an incomplete deck (still needs 1/2 the railings, a special pool gate to pass inspection, and did not complete a built in bench or storage closet that was in the contract.). He took my final payment of over $1600, never finished the work and left me with a giant mess in my yard, and I have to go out and pay someone else to finish the job for me. This guy is scum, and upon doing research online (after the fact) he has a history of doing ripping people off. I would never recommend this guy in a million years.
