This report is better late than never. I was furious with this establishment at the time and will never consider being a customer again. My husband purchased a John Hardy bracelet for my birthday. I wore it sparingly for about 18 months. One day, I went to put it on, and the hinge sprang out! I was amazed and distressed, as I had never misused or abused this bracelet in any way. I took it back to Cornell's and the saleswoman said that she would check in the "back room" to see if it could be repaired on site. She came back to say that this would not be an option, and that they'd have to send it back to BALI (the country) for repair, which could take up to 2 months, and also that it might cost up to $90 to repair. I was appalled at this estimate and that Cornell's would charge me this exhorbitant amount after only 18 months of ownership, so I asked her to check with the John Hardy Company to assure me that there was no possible way that the company might be willing to cover this repair. I waited and waited for a phone call from Cornell's to no avail. After 3 weeks of nothing, I called them. They said they were sorry, but they hadn't hear anything from John Hardy. Guess what? They had, but they forgot to call me. They either lost the paperwork, or they are just inefficient. The final upshot of this report is this: It took 6 months for my bracelet to be returned from Bali to Cornell's. And that's not even the worst part. When I finally got word that it was back, I went in to retrieve it. I, of course, had the dubious pleasure of paying $90 for the repair of a bracelet that is worth maybe $400 at retail. I arrived at Cornell's on a humid summer weekday. There was not one customer in the store. I approached the cubicle where a sign directed me to "pick-ups", but the woman in the cubicle was on the phone. I looked around for someone else to help and a salesperson approached me. I asked where I could pick up a repair, and he directed me to the same cubicle, and then left. I waited 15 minutes to pay $90 for a bracelet that I'd worn maybe 15 times in as many months. These people are condescending and greedy...they could care less about service after the sale. CAVEAT EMPTOR!
