I love Cats and Critters. I've had 4 different cats that have been treated there. Dr Couture, the techs and and the office staff are all very concerned about the animals' welfare and are always extremely pleasant to the people involved as well! This is just one example, but every time I've ever taken a pet there, they always exhibit the same wonderful attitudes and behave in a manner that shows that they really do care about animals. I've moved pretty far away from the office but still go back there because I've never found a vet and staff that was as good to my pets as they are.
I *LOVE* Cats and Critters. They remember and care about all my cats. After testing, or whenever I have a question, I get a call back from one of the vets, Dr. Hach or Dr Couture, explaining the results and my options. The vets have frequently done research in response to one of my questions.
I have had vets in the past, at other offices, who routinely conveyed diagnoses and treatment decisions through their vet techs or receptionists, and if I had another question, it then had to be conveyed back through the tech/receptionist, to the vet, and back again. That was irritating as h***, and I fired that vet.
I have NEVER had that problem with Cats and Critters. The vets take a personal interest in my cats, both my forever-cats and my foster cats, and I never have to beg for the vet's time or attention. They often call, unprompted, just to follow up on how my kitties are doing. They *really care* about my cats. I cannot speak highly enough about them.
Their prices for grooming/shaving my Persians are extremely reasonable. When I lived in Brooklyn, the charge at a regular grooming shop was $75 for a lion cut or a bath, blow-dry and comb-out. I think at Cand C it's a little less than that, and this is at a VET's office, which I love. They treat my Persians' need for grooming as a health issue, which I really appreciate because it is true. If Persians get matted, they can get diarrhea (from consuming the fur they kick-up when scratching) or they can get skin infections and lesions.
Also, the vets there are highly progressive and enlightened. They support raw-diet for cats and get it about species-appropriate nutrition. They are just a perfect fit for us. I LOVE THEM!!!!
