I was informed he needed an operation i couldn’t afford. The only option was to pay what i couldn’t afford or take him home or put him to sleep. All VERY sudden and unaware. Not time was given Not even opportunity to pay after surgery. Well over 1000$ i had to resort to what was in my pockets. I explained i have a new born Begging for a little time to come up with it i was left with no choice but to put my best friend to sleep. These people made him suffer all day to find out what was wrong. They are very mean to the cats and just want a dollar. They dont care about the animals at all. Or the owners

Dr.'s Arnold and Hartman have cared for my personal cats, the rescue cats I foster, and the ferals from 2 colonies I manage, for well over a decade now. They also provide services to many local rescue groups. The are caring and highly skilled vets and are fairly priced compared to other practices. The staff is professional, attentive and friendly, and it's obvious that they are all cat people.

I love Caring for Cats but I saw the other vet, Dr Hartman and not Dr Arnold this time. Dr Arnold is amazing, always so friendly and so great with the kitties. Dr Hartman is a good vet but does not have the same bedside manner. She is very efficient and does seem knowledgeable.

I'm sure they have many veterinarians woking there, but the one that was assigned to our cat basically man handled our pet to a point where the cat was traumatized. Plus the Vet lacked basic people skills. Never talked to use or explained what they were going to do.
Never received a call with test results.
Never again!

We can't say enough about the excellent care, advice and kindness shown by Dr Hartman, Dr Arnold and their staff over the last month as we struggled to keep our much loved old cat going.  They ran tests, gave us helpful advice on care and were very patient over several visits.  They were very compassionate when the inevitable decision was made.  We have taken our cats there for about fourteen years and have always been very happy with their expertise and care. We would highly recommend them.

The lack of cleanliness was terrible.  The smell was overpowering with cat urine.  It was very difficult to be in there.  The vet was a very cold and disinterested person.  She was in a rush.  She was very curt when she answered my questions.  I will never go back there.

Dr Arnold was very open and honest. I ask a lot of questions and both she and tech were patient. Good solid advice on what flea meds to recommend and options. I expected around 100 each for cat and it was right on, I opted for heart worm due to fleas. Tech was in exam room and they were both experienced and friendly. Room was clean and they try to be timely with scheduled appmts. 2 vet practice- I go with dr Arnold from my experience with fosters through local pet adoption network in Irondequoit. Love the Abyssinians wandering around free in office. Adds to charm and feel of waiting area compared to others I've been to.

Dr. Arnold did a full examination, including a routine blood test to check kidney functions (specifiacally because our cat is taking an anti inflammatory drug), but the test would also show if there is something else going on. Dr. Arnold gave Cheeto subcutaneous fluids because she was somewhat dehydrated from the vomiting, gave her a couple of shots of anti nausea medications along with B vitamins and told us we'd get the blood test results the next day.
After her initial snit over being taken to the vet, Cheeto started acting like her normal self again.
Dr. Arnold is compassionate, efficient, straightforward without being blunt, and just an all around good doctor. Combine that with a bill that was easily one half to three quarters of what we would have paid at our former vet and you've got a winning combination.

The vet was very caring in all of my cats conditions not only of me but my cat as well. Some suturing was required to close self inflicted would that my cat had done to himself. We took him home and he proceeded to open the sutures again after the pain medication wore off. We were forced to take him back and the vet proceeded to close the wound again without charging us. Very caring and compassionate.

I am so pleased with how my cat and I were made to feel welcome. The staff is friendly and professional. This was the first time I have been to Caring For Cats and I am so glad I went an extra few miles to get there. My cat looked so good with his new haircut . He was not at all stressed.

Lisa said he was easy to work with, which made me feel good about my cat's experience. It has been difficult to find a good cat groomer. I am very happy that I finally found one, and will schedule all of my cat's future grooming with Caring For Cats.

Everything went well. It is a very busy place and the only drawback is it seemed like they were a bit preoccupied and wanted me to get out the door. I was able to stick with it and they answered all my questions. Overall I will use them again, and it was a positive experience.

Dr. Arnold does all the 'basics' but always seems to be rushed for time to get too involved with us. She is wonderful with her pricing, often giving us great discounts due to our multiple cats and frequent visits, which we truly appreciate. The other vet, Dr. Hartman, is very cold and curt with absolutely NO bedside manner. She can be very rude at times, showing no compassion or love for the animals. We try to avoid her at all costs

Dr. Hartman and Dr. Arnold are both very good with all of my cats. When I took my previous cat here that was very sick, she was wonderful with him. I had taken him to another veterinarian who had said that because of his age, there was no need to treat him. Dr. Hartman took wonderful care for him and was more than kind. She is an excellent vet and can calm my cats down even when I can't. Dr. Hartman and Dr. Arnold are both wonderful with my cats. I would go see either one of them at any time. I have had no problems with them or their service.

They only deal with cats. We have an indoor cat and when we got her she weighed less than a pound. She's four years old now. They checked her thoroughly. They did a good job. When they got a hold of her, they weighed her, checked her skin, hair and teeth. They then washed her warm water and cool air dried her, they did put hot air on her. They did excellent work on her and they really thoroughly checked her out and said she was fine. She has a little bit of damage on one of her front paws.

I had searched around for a vet for my two kittens for a few weeks but all the spaying costs seemed very large ($700 for two cats). That's when I came across Caring for Cats who gave me an estimate of $135-155. There were a couple cheaper vets but based on reviews I decided to pay slightly more for better quality.
I was able to schedule an appointment within a few days for a presurgical visit and when I had issues getting the cats in the carrier and called ahead to say I'd be 15 minutes late they were understanding.
At the visit, Dr. Arnold was very friendly and good with the cats. Based on the physical exams, she asked if I'd want the spaying done that day which was convenient for me. The cats were kept for surgery and I was able to call later to make sure they came through the surgery safely. They kept them overnight and I was able to pick up the cats anytime the next day and the total bill was only $306.
Overall, I was very pleased with the experience and would recommend Caring to Cats to anyone.

I saw Dr. Arnold and as usual, she was right on time with the appointment. The examinations were uneventful because both cats were young and healthy. She examined my older cat and did blood work prior to scheduling a dental cleaning. Betsy is always very gentle and loves to work with all cats-it is as though each cat she sees is the most beautiful cat she has ever seen. She has a vet tech helping her hold and restrain the cats, particularly for drawing blood for testing. Her techs are always very nice and capable. I have been going to Betsy for nearly 9 years and I can attest to her concern for all cats, including providing services at a low cost for several local rescue groups.
After doing blood work on my older cat, Betsy called me the next day to let me know the results and how to proceed based on his condition.
In the past I have also seen Dr. Hartman too on several occasions and she is an excellent practitioner and very thorough.
The reception staff is good, but can provide uneven service especially on the phone.
Cat lovers will love the fact that Betsy has a number of her show cats, present and past, roaming the halls. Comet the Cornish Rex is especially notable as he often comes in the exam room and provides a calming presence to nervous cats.
