The basement is ok but I was under the impression that they would be able to level out my basement floor but they did not. He also told me he could he put down some vinyl flooring in the basement.  He also did not finish the floor under my basement stairs so there is still a hole. The basement also was not finished a sealed properly.

In my bathroom I was under the impression that I would receive a liner on the walls which did not happen and it appears the bathtub in my bathroom is now smaller than the tub I had before. Now when my stepson takes a shower there appears to be a leak coming from somewhere. I was under the impression that there plumber would be able to fix the problems with the leaks and he did not. I am also now missing hooks that were originally in my bathroom.

The hallway going upstairs to my staircase now has scratches from them moving in and out equipment. I just feel that the results could have turned out better. They were not able to complete the work in the time the contract stated. However he did give me an extra railing for my steps outside. I now will now have to spend additional money to have the work completed.

The roofing went well, although we had asked to have gutters switched to drain to drier side of house. This did not get done. We also had old z-brick that was falling off the bottom half of the house and Brent suggested we put siding on it. Since it would be hard to match, we re-sided entire front, put new shutters and front door on.This looks very nice, but  Brent had to have men come back to finish area where old siding on the sides of the house met with new siding on front. We also inquired about a small cement area to be put in front of house under eaves (house is raised ranch) so that dirt would not get splashed against new siding and windows during rain storms (we face west). This idea morphed into a beautiful design with pavers, sloping sidewalk with planting area/retaining wall along driveway. We also had pavered flower box at top of stairs next to door instead of railing near stairs. Great idea!.....but the men that Brent contracted, were very unprofessional. The older man kept yelling at the younger helper, the man cut the pavers in our garage on rainy days and we had paver dust all over our garage. We also had an old slab of concrete with slate inserts at the front door that broke and they couldn't get it all the way out. They decided to leave it there "for stability".  When the retaining wall was done, I told Brent that it didn't look quite right, he said it was fine. The paver design came out beautifully, but the shaping strip (don't know what to call it) is above the pavers in some places, below in others, the spikes holding it in place--some are out toward lawn, some are under pavers. I don't know which way the strip should be. The next year, the pavers started to shift. I saw Brent at church and he said to expect some "settling". Well the sidewalk has kept settling--pavers are loose, weeds have gotten between pavers, some pavers have sunk (especially past the stable cement slab). I called him to come over in 2006 because I have neighbors with pavered walks that have been tightly intact for more that 15 years, yet my walkway is unsightly and a hazard. He told me that it was "the lay of the land". I told him that if the men he subcontracted to were professionals, they would know about the "lay of the land". He would not do anything about this and it drives me crazy every time I look at my sidewalk and think about the money I spent  for a crappy job. Oh, he also told me that I could lift the sunken bricks and add some sand!!!! I would never recommend this company to anyone.
Response from Capstone Remodeling and Construction Inc

"Member contacted the company almost 3 years later to say the pavers were separating - I sent a man back and he re seated the pavers and she was advised at the time that it would be good to keep any weeds etc. from growing between the pavers as the growth would cause the pavers to separate. Everything at that time was correct. She appreciated our coming back. I have heard nothing from her since. I can't correct a problem if I don't know about it. That is exactly what happened so I am stunned that Member would not have at least called me to have me come back and talk with her. This project was done 8 years ago and this is the first time I'm hearing about any other problem whatsoever. Any concerned she had about the project were completely handled. My mason had over 25 years experience in his field. The project came out great and I secured several jobs from the out come. So I am at a complete loss as to why Member would not call me or say something to me about any of this. I saw her at church on a regular basis for quite a while after the completion of the project and she was always very nice to me and never mentioned any problems except the ONE previously mentioned above. We pride ourselves in doing a proper job and making sure our customers are happy."

I liked that their price was good, their salesman was exceptional, and I knew the person anyway.  The price had to be in the $15000 range.
